WTH this is my favorite Aesop Rock reaction ever and it should have 100k views by now! PPL missing out. *edit* also the hyperventilation sample is (I think) from Fat Boys - Fat boys.

@6:02 “ this is Mars attacks there should be some like space or some type of space theme here“ I believe he said this was about 9/11 & the world trade center attacks. the line “sun rose over at body bag shortage” is gnarly. @4:45 “ Conversations with himself“ those are some of my favorite things about his art too and sense of humor definitely comes out when he’s having a conversation with himself or another character

@2:03 “ The instrumental is just great on this“ he released it as an instrumental on build your own bazooka tooth 1 cd is all his vocals and the other all the instrumentals & he told folks to go nuts .

Sodom and Gomorrah were two evil cities in the Bible that God destroyed with fire and brimstone for the amount of sin they committed. Also is said to be one the earliest recorded evidence of sodomy.

5:00 side note: the word paradise is derived from the Aramaic word pardis: garden. So when Jesus tells the thief on the cross “today you will be with me in paradise,” he actually says “today you will be with me in THE GARDEN.” There is a growing body of scholarly work that fleshes out the literary genius of the Bible. It’s truly mind blowing when you start to look at the Bible as not just a book of stories, but stories that are “hyperlinked” together in such a way that “rhymes”stories together. Also, I sincerely appreciate your analysis of the beats. I couldn’t tell you how many times you were able to articulate certain things about the beat that I couldn’t quite describe until I heard your assessment (ie. your description of the beat being “wet” or “thick”)

Yo much love homie. Knowing that adds a lot of interesting context. There's a song called Wrath on DABDA, and I read a lot of stories of wrath in the Bible for inspiration. School has taught me a lot about music, but I would say don't be afraid to use whatever word comes to mind. If it makes sense to you, that's all that matters.
@damienperry57585 күн бұрын
For sure. It took me 40 years to finally discover a form of literature that I can appreciate. And in a way, it’s for the same reason I love rap: word play, deeply hidden meaning, and “rhymes.” I mean that literally as well as in the sense that “history doesn’t repeat itself, it rhymes”

I was waiting for the change here, there was no way MIA was not getting political or activist. Marigolds are representative in many cultures of the divine. Día de los Muertos uses them to guide the souls of the dead. Diwali uses them to symbolize the victory of light over darkness. Conflict is a common theme with MIA's music. Her father was a Sri Lankan activist, and her family was displaced by the Tamil Civil War - in her own words, soldiers would come to the schools and shoot at them through the windows and they would run to the "English-speaking school" to reach safety. A lot of her music deals with inequality, war and activism.

False Light like most Deca tracks is filled with great metaphors and rhyme schemes - the message is great - but this isn't my favourite Deca track, I appreciate the muted chaos of the instrumental and the arty feel of the vibe but there's a sense of cohesion that's uncharacteristically missing with this one, imo. Sadistik - Fata Morgana Sadistik - Drifting Norman Sann - Adding Up ^ Get on to these when you can!

Alright dude it's a Jaws reference. Bruce in Finding Nemo was a reference to Jaws. Behind the scenes they called the shark Bruce and that's why they named the shark Bruce in Finding Nemo. This is what comments should be, fuckin sharing information not hate.

Easily one of my favourite tracks on the album. You're on the money - it's building cardboard spaceships and using the imagination - the later verses the behaviour continues into adulthood providing a retreat from reality with retro games ie. Galaga. Sadistik - Fata Morgana Sadistik - Drifting Norman Sann - Adding Up ^ these soon please! Peace from AUS

Yo Noshoes, sending love as always bro! Also I got a request: When Balloonerism drops (Jan. 17th) from Mac. Bro, I would KILL to see you do a full album reaction. Not out of order, not only certain tracks like you did with faces, but the whole album yk? I don't know if that's possible cause youtube copyright sucks absolute ass, but Balloonerism's my favorite Album of all time and I doubt a lot of reactors will do major reactions for it. I know how much you love deep diving into lyrics and always appreciated your attention to detail, so if you'd ever be open to doing a full reaction, that'd mean the world bro! Most dope, no shoes 🙌🏾.
