i moved in 2015 when it was still pretty mellow. the popularity has brought an onslaught ofctourist who are often rude and drunk. the locals are rebelling against this onslaught. the police are cracking down, and prices sre rising. i suggest you look at other locations. p vallarta huatulco or cabo.

I have always wondered how income works with tourist visas. In a lot of countries you’re not technically allowed to work. At the end of the day do most countries end up not carrying about passive online income?

I bought this one for photo only and it’s sooo good. I usually run the A6700 and it’s amazing for video but that full frame sensor is tough to beat! Great video

For just a few Francs you can also climb the Münster Tower, see the Bells and have a breathtaking 360° View. the lower Platform is at 50m, the upper at 70m (narrow Stairs only, no Lift!)

Now I always use SafetyWing- I like that you can insure for the exact number of days of your trip. Before I used World Nomads, which was good for insuring camera equipment.

When we were there the maximum return on the dollar was always at Western Union or changing on the street. You would need to check the exchange rate of the ATM and compare it with the Blue Dollar rate. Here is a site for the Blue Dollar that basically breaks down the difference in exchange rates when using ATMs or changing at Western Union or on the streets (informal rate) bluedollar.net/

I always stayed at hostels with lockers so I didn’t have to worry about valuables getting stolen 🙂

I agree, hostels with lockers. At a hostel without lockers (very rare, but Casablanca Morocco comes to mind), I find the owner or senior staffer to take my bag while I'm out. I travel solo with a folding bike, so that goes by my bed when I'm not riding it. Nothing ever lost or stolen.
