Appreciate your reply and good wishes. My goal is to find a place to live ! ( I will never be able to stop working and still live here in Northern ( Sonoma County ) California. Have been looking at the Pacific Coast for years and only finally making a visit happen this month. Looking at both Puerto Escondido and Sayulita and thinking that either area as well as both North and South of each might be OK too ( perhaps a little more affordable and still nice beach access ) I'm in my mid 60's so my residential construction future is slowing ! : ) Have a great weekend, Steve

Sounds like a great decision! Puerto Escondido seems like the perfect place to retire. We met many retired folks living down there while we were there and all seemed very happy with their decision to move there. Best of luck to you!

i moved in 2015 when it was still pretty mellow. the popularity has brought an onslaught ofctourist who are often rude and drunk. the locals are rebelling against this onslaught. the police are cracking down, and prices sre rising. i suggest you look at other locations. p vallarta huatulco or cabo.
