We have! At least 100 trees have been planted on either side of the meandered beck, should be growing nicely now.

I hope there are some that are suitable for beaver - they will help with your mission!

I must say I applaud the effort and intentions, the drone footage does rather give away the fact that this to is a man made course hopefully time and erosion will improve things.

You mean draining the water table quick assists fish ?

I agree with you about leaky weirs upstream Border Reiver but removing this obstruction aids the migration of fish and the conditions for them to lay their eggs in the gravels formed by a free flowing river

... and what effect did that have on flooding down stream? ... this is a mistaken program ... if anything more weirs (leaky weirs) need to be built all the way up to the watershed to stop catastrophic flooding downstream ... the theory is simple as anyone who understands open channel hydraulics will tell you ...

Fenced off rivers also makes it hard for anglers to get access to the river, why don't you put more styles in when fencing off ????

We need to take out more of these weirs that no longer serve a purpose.
