This video and the one with Pumpkinpotion are genuinely good advise on how to do things, how to read analytics in a healthy and useful way for steady growth and not to chase the next high just to get burned out. KZbin wants very different content from you compared to Twitch but it gives you a lot more numbers and while it can be frustrating to see the algorithm act "strange" it's honestly fun everytime you feel like you figured something out. I've picked up again on uploading my old Twitch VODs after watching Kab's videos. Still not the edited content KZbin asks for but the feedback loop when you notice "Oh, putting effort in thumbnails did something!" "Oh, this is very similiar content but this video's title did SOMETHING" is very rewarding. Also something that's great about using different platforms: When you stay on Twitch, especially when you have few viewers your new viewers often come from streamer friends, raids etc. This can give you REALLY awful brainworms since you know where everyone is coming from and make you think they're here to do someone else a favor. There is nothing worse than seeing two people in your follow list go live and your own viewer list gets WIPED while you know where they went. KZbin throws complete strangers at you as viewers! They don't know you or your friends and getting THOSE to stick with your content and even come to Twitch for you feels great

Honestly, the feeling I always got with liminal spaces as a concept was less to do with there being no people around there should be people, but rather this feeling that you're not supposed to be there. For example, if you have ever worked or been in an indoor stadium when no one is around, and the lights are off or dimmed, you feel like you're not supposed to be there. It actually has a similar feeling of going into a mall when it's supposed to be closed, but the doors opened up. You feel like you're trespassing and breaking the law. It's a feeling that if you continue doing what you're doing, you could lose your freedom and be detained for a set amount of time. I honestly believe that this is where that freak really comes from, doing something that could take away your freedom for just being in the wrong place. As though you were trespassing into a location, you're not supposed to be.

Thanks for putting this full video out! I'm at 9 months of full-time streaming now, and there was a lot there that I really needed to hear. I can't not rely on this as my income because long-covid has been debilitating to the point that I can't do live shows anymore, but I've been slowly realising a lot of the healthy outlooks that you two mentioned in the video like how I think about streaming and my schedule, my relationship to the numbers, working smarter by understanding the system, and making friends who also stream. Even the things I already had mostly sussed out were nice to hear from streamers that have a good amount of experience ❤(*‘ω‘ *)
