I'm glad there are poeple who actually make a "raction" to Calli because they have something to say and not because there is good views in it. You have talent for these kind of narrations and writing. Can't wait for the "Red" video
@Kabhaal3 жыл бұрын
I appreciate that. Yes there good views to be had and I can understand the hustle, but Calli is a wealth of information and experience that I wish more people tapped into. I really enjoy introspection and making pieces that can get the gears turning.

@@Kabhaal Yeah, she is so good at lyrically. Personally that's why I chose to be her Apostle. I think many people just won't give her lyrics a chance because she's a vtuber and her other stuff never really got that popular. I think she's the only one who talks about how it feels to be a popular vtuber and the downsides of the whole thing. Okay, I could write a couple more paragraphs about how and why I love her, but I think you got the point.

Wow, this was a great analytical video it makes me have so much respect for how much calli puts into her music, I'm glad that we have people like you who can understand how much work she puts in

I'm glad! I love that Calli loads her songs with her experiences, its some of my favorite stuff she puts out becuase I frankly love talking "shop" about content creation and she's a fountain of knowledge and experience. Its unfortunate that it not something that she can really dig into on stream but thats okay I'm just glad she shares her thoughts even if its in song.

One thing I want to say about the lines "Just follow my shadow / Guess what, I'm on your side" Cali wants to help people. Even these same people who are attacking her. One of the first things she did was make that remix contest wasn't it? That was practically free publicity for anyone who decided to participate, especially if they were good. As soon as she had the chance, Cali started trying to bring other people up with her. The song where "the big-headed bad guy Calli got them swerving" was a tough love song. She told them that they'd have to work to get where she was, and when they didn't take it well she told them a little firmer. She's asking people to follow her shadow, follow her foot steps, because she is in fact, on their side. Even if they're some ungrateful little punks.

I fully agree with this take. I know she framed it in her own lyrical breakdown that it was more "if you want to hate on me, come learn from the master of it, me" But again I think it Calli leveraging the ability to deliver multiple messages through wordplay as she no doubt caught flak from managment for her "inflammatory remarks" I wish she could nerd out a talk shop more because I feel she has a great live for the creative process but is held back due to conflicts with the brand that Hololive wants to present.
@MercuryA20003 жыл бұрын
@@Kabhaal That's the trade off of Hololive. They give you all kinds of tools to succeed and help their vtubers so much, but they take a lot of the control an independent VTuber would have. Great video btw. When off with their head came out I went on a kick where I watched like, all of the reactions for it, and I loved your break down then. Forgot to note your channel though, so when this video loaded and I realized who it was I got excited. I love a song with depth, and I love a good breakdown of them.

Great video. I love how you offer alternative takes and look into lyrics that most skip over. I'll be honest, I watch mainly for your Horror readings and videos like this. I am not a minecraft guy, but I love your voice and your personality, so I intend to marathon your 7 days to die videos the next time I am in the mood for watching that kind of content. I'm probably a viewer that is more trouble than they are worth, but I do genuinely enjoy what you make. Thank you. :)

Excellent breakdown, Kab! I mostly agree with this; I’ve grown pretty well over the 3 months I’ve been streaming, and while I’m on PTO from my day job right this moment the juggling act has been rough. And I know well the feeling like I’m spinning my wheels in place. I love what I’m doing and I grind with vigor, but the hustle can lend itself to thoughts of inadequacy that, ultimately, can form a pretty nasty feedback loop if you let them. One thing I’ll say is not only are we ourselves most aware of our own mistakes, but also *perceived* mistakes. We can, at times, find fault in our own content where nobody else ever will and where may not even be warranted. Especially when you’re doing well. But at the end of the day, I’m happy and I know what I’ve got. I think I’ve made myself a pretty good shot and I sure as hell ain’t letting it go to waste.

You've done well and I for one am proud to count you among those that I know and have been on this Vtubing journey with. A suggestion if you plan to do this more in the future. Please put the text to the lyrics you are talking about on the screen. It would really help since a viewer doesn't need to have a 2nd tab open with the lyrics or have to rely on Closed Captions so much. Can also give the text style some kind of horror feel/vibe to it.

Something to note: the whole "Kizuna changed VAs" thing is a persistent rumor, not a fact. Kizuna actually has a video on her channel debunking this.
@1000shadowmario3 жыл бұрын
Cover Corp knows their audience and knows what they want. They know that once one of them graduates then that's it, they can't use that character anymore. If they do then they will get into the Kizuna Ai effect where the character loses it's charm. It's like you said, it's not the character but the person behind it is what matters.
@somename34243 жыл бұрын
hololive's talents are different from kizuna ai, they cant replace her, they can only fire her (make her "graduate") and they really lucked out with calli since she can both be a good vtuber and a rapper. it already happened with 2 vtubers (one left because of irl reasons and other was fired)
