I scrapped my previous engraver because this was happening and I could not fix it. Now I learn Light burn could have fixed it. Oh well, I have a better engraver now.

What laser do I need to engrave on brass coins?!
@rlarson3232Ай бұрын
Do you know if the 2 cords can be extended so that I can have the controller in my hallway and place the fan unit at the other end of my house. What I'm trying to do is move air from one side of my house to the other end of my house and have the probe detect heat from my fire place and circulate hot air to the other side of my home.

WHAT "myths" were removed? WHAT type laser did you use? OH YEA, a Rudia 644XG Co2 of which your viewers should NOT have to research, but, you should have mentioned. Current LightBurn revisions have a built in "Material Test" that makes finding out your best settings Easy Peasy...

How do you prevent the path from burning?
@ThunderLaserUSA8 ай бұрын
You must covert the text to path then delete the pathlayer or use T1 or T2(tool layer) so its no seen as "cut" layer
@NatesToolbox8 ай бұрын
Fiber laser is the machine you want for this job. my 30W obliterates Brick and stone and if you go slow enough which is still way faster than CO2 it melts into a nice dark black.

Thanks for the comparison! I'm hesitating between the Thunder Bolt and the Xtool P2. Can you also provide me with the cutting depth limits on more thick plywood. I understand that the Xtool P2 is better in this respect...
@1-Nice-Guy6 ай бұрын
I hate everything about Xtool, but I do feel the P2 will smoke the Bolt when it comes to cutting thicker than 1/8" wood and acrylic. The Bolt is great for engraving, cutting will usually require more passes compared to the P2.
@chuckbroten4 ай бұрын
@@1-Nice-Guy I think it will depend on the lens being used. 1.5 inch for detailed graphics and a 4 inch for cutting thicker material. The 2.5 inch lens is a good all around lens. The equivalent power of the Bolt RF unit is 60 watts, 70 with the Bolt Plus. So, it seems the Bolt actually has more power to start. I did a detailed analysis on a spread sheet and will probably go with the Bolt. I like the P2 Z advantage but dislike that it is not fully compatible with Lightburn (cameras). I also like that I can use my PiBurn rotary with the bolt since I already have one. I like not having to fiddle with coolant like you do on the P2. I do like the larger work area on the P2. But, in the year and a half that I was using my 60 watt Monport (20 X 28) I found that the larger work area didn't make much difference. The need for a large work area quickly moves me into a larger machine and my workspace is a little limited. Always tradeoffs, for sure. Each of us has to weigh the pros and cons from our own situation.

Thank you for a great video. I did have a question based on comments I have seen in other discussions though. If you take off the extension for the 4 inch lens, couldn't you be potentially clipping the beam through the tip at the upper part of the hourglass rather than it having thinned enough to fully fit through the hole or is that really not an issue with the way that particular barrel and tip are spec'd?
@HouseOfLasers Жыл бұрын
I can see this as a small possibility, but until we see a negative impact, split beam, shadowing etc.. i would not be concerned. But since we are using this as an engraving lens at this point to clear objects, I would use the larger opening nozzle.

I've been trying to come up with a reasonable explanation for the flaking as well. You seem to have hit the nail on the head. Nothing you can do about it other than clean it off. It's too bad because the frosty look you get with it on really looks cool but it isn't going to stay.
@HouseOfLasers Жыл бұрын
Focus 2mm from the glass and that will give you a sand blasted result. The beam interacts a bit differently.. but all in all we are fracturing the glass and it is very hard to get rid of the flaking. Focusing in was the only way I found to work
