Well when your history and availability to earn wealth is within living memory, I suppose both old and new are a bit subjective. Ultimately these are wealthy multi-generational families so not that far off a description. Interesting topic nonetheless.

There was a movie called The St. Francisville Experiment. Four college students and a psychi went to the Lalaurie House psyhic research. It was filmed in the Lalaurie House by one of the students. Long story short, the students and psychic was run off the property by the spirits of the enslaved. Two of the students went mad after that. All five were white.

Drottningholm actually wasn’t inspired by Versailles because both Versailles and Drottningholm started their construction at the same time. Instead, both Drottningholm and Versailles were inspired by the french palace Vaux-le-Vicomte

Oh my these homes were and are spectacular in so many ways. Because care of craftsmanship was key! I’m a wood lover so any and all be they built ins or carved. So many wondrous mantels were wood. I see in comments quite a ‘few’ upset with pronounciations. Although in America we don’t speak English, it’s slang so why the attitude tickles me. I do understand it’s respectful yet WE can’t pronounce half of your names😝🤷♀️🤦♀️. Knickers can be twisted here, so gird your loins kind sir, just delete or block the unkind.
