Peak Mellencamp! Here he set the definitive foundation of how modern country would sound a few years later(lesser versions than this original, that is) and no recognition for it. Thanks for the upload 🙏🎼

In this world the things that would make me happy are unattainable for most but IF I HEARD THAT John Mellencamp QUIT SMOKING - I would smile + be happy. I'd say "John you're not gonna die from it" + it'd be great to see.

I'm pretty sure this is the night they made the video for Check It Out. I was there and they are all wearing the same thing they were as I remember. I sat behind the stage in about the fourth row so I was very close to see what they were wearing . If so it's December 11th 1987

If i remember correctly that's where paper and fire video was recorded. I always thought it was neat cause I was born in Savannah but was only there about 1 year and moved to Seymour which is where my family is from😊

@@jtclarks You are correct. Many of Mellencamp’s videos, including “Paper In Fire,” were filmed in Savannah. John loves this city.

My hope is that he made a real confession of faith. I admit I have elevated John in my life a little high since age 7 to somewhere around my late 40s. I'm 55 now. I found him on the radio when I was a boy laying on the picnic table under a big catalpa tree one summer in Boonville, IN. I have followed that dude my whole life as he recorded his life in song. My life mirrored his always just around 15 yrs later usually. His politics as of late, however, made me wince. I felt as if John looked to man for the answers, and I did not. Today, as I watch this, I do not cast blame on what John has done with the gift he has been given. I am no better. I truly hope he has allowed Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior into his person and becomes obedient to the Holy Spirit. I really want that to be the case for him. I do not know him, and he does not know me. We do not need to know each other in this present world. My hope is that we are brothers in Christ now. Eternally.

Angry young man is now angry old man. He called himself "Little Bastard" for a reason. Asshole even admitted he and his band would start backstage fights with other bands because it was "fun" and thats what they did in Indiana. He's a great artist, songwriter and singer but he's a miserable human being. Even his "paintings" are miserable like him.

He promised back opening for Jethro Tull and the Who in the 90s . He said," if you guys throw one more thing at us we are leaving ". Just then, a sea of bottles hit the stage .His whole band had to run for their lives off stage. Poser came in on a Harley and started singing about little pink houses for you and me .Folsom field Boulder, Colorado .
