Nice lathe, Luie. I believe you will be happy with it. I had a Central Machine just like yours for many years then finally got one with a reverse and found that to be a wonderful feature. Can't wait to see it in action now. Keep on, keeping on!

You did a really good and informative review. I really appreciate that. I am hoping that I will be able to get this lathe at some point. I have a Central Machinery lathe now and have done a lot of turning on it. Great starter but no reverse or variable speed. Got to start saving up for this one.. I have subscribed and I look forward to see some of your projects.

Under that lathe is a gold mine for people who camp! Nice and fluffy dry tinder just waiting for a spark! Be safe, and package that up to sell next to firewood bundles!😂😂😂 I use the noodles from processing firewood to light my stoves, but home depot, Lowes, tsc and a lot of outdoor equipment store are mixing it with paraffin wax and selling it for $5.00+-!

Looks nice, I had no idea they had one. $600 not bad. I already have a 36 inch variable. One of the tools I rarely use. The last time was about 2 years ago. Chair legs. Might use it on the baby crib I started on. Oh one thing I do use it for , a drum sander. Lathe some wood, apply sand paper and build a table to place under the spindle. Turn her on and push the wood through. Works great on table tops , things like that. In my case up to 36 inches

Thanks for the video. When I was working as a machinist I made my own lathe modelling it after a Delta from one of their catalogues. I have also made all of my own chisels and handles out of Ash or Black Cherry. I love your sharpening setup and I will probably do the same thing when the weather warms up. Thanks for the inspiration.

Impressive lathe Luie, it looks very sturdy and I hope you get a lot of good turning projects out of it, one thing I notice is that you may have to get an extension because the tailstock gets in the way of lathe tools! Enjoy it and looking forward to seeing some projects, thanks! Cheers Al

Another turner had weird sound and after changing headstock bearings (Harvey lathe) made same sound. Audio was creating the sound.

Good follow up Luie. I heard the sound you are talking about. I figured it was mic location and the fact you were in low range. When spinning fast in low I think it is typical the sound is different. Motor needs to turn faster to get the higher speeds. Which can lead to belt sounds. Just kind of what I was thinking at the time. Anyway it sure sounds smooth to me. Gary
