Just useless test. Even if they know the cause they can't treat CKD patients. The cause is easy to identify without harming the kidney, major causes are High BP and Sugar

My symptoms was, I was having a severe headache that been going on and it cause me to vomiting, I went to my primary doctor to check up and my blood pressure was high, did some lab work and it was abnormal so she suggest I went into ER, in there my blood pressure was up pretty high, lab work……so on..when my nephrologist come in to check on me my lab result come out that I have acute kidney renal failure CKD with creatinine level at 4.0 and I was in there for like 5 day, my nephrologist suggest an biopsy but I refused at that times since I was scared and nervous about the side effects and procedures, fast forward I felt a bit better, I get to go home and follow up as an outpatient, and what happen is with diet change my creatinine level seem to improve but than my sodium suddenly went down so I have to admit back to the hospital, my question is how was the procedure? Did any have any complications during the procedure and after? Was it painful? Please let me know, thank you so much in advance

Just got back from my biopsy: I'm 37, have CKD Stage 3b with a eGFR of 43.9, and no family history of kidney issues, so a biopsy was recommended by my nephrologist. My appointment was scheduled for 9:30AM and I arrived at 9AM because I always like to be early. While waiting, they hooked up an IV into my hand which hurt a little bit but wasn't bad at all. I ended up waiting until 11:30AM before they finally sent me back for the procedure. As for the procedure, they ordered a random biopsy with CT scan, so I had to lie on my stomach and be moved back and forward through the CT machine many many times while staying absolutely as still as possible. Eventually the doctor who performed the procedure first injected the site with lidocaine via a small syringe which hurt even less than the IV in my hand from earlier. Next I honestly don't know what all they did in what order because I couldn't feel anything. I did not feel the biopsy needle, I didn't feel pressure or burning or weird sensations or anything at all and it was actually really cozy just laying there, relaxing! Everyone was super nice and friendly and the whole experience was a lot easier than I thought. After they took 2 samples, then placed a bandage, then wheeled me back to the waiting area for observation. I ended up waiting 3 hours (until 3PM) and they had me urinate in the toilet without flushing and kept monitoring my blood pressure and heart rate. Since all was well and looked great, they sent me home and as of right now (3 hours after leaving the hospital), I feel perfectly fine! I might wake up really sore tomorrow but I dunno. Hopefully this helps someone else out there who has to do this as well and I hope it's not a big deal and goes great for you too! P.S. I recommend bringing a fully charged phone, tablet, game system, etc. with you to pass the time. I also brought a bluetooth earpiece so I could listen to my stuff while still being able to hear the hospital out of my other ear. ^_^

originally came to this video because I was nervous about my biopsy. Reading the comments I guess every hospital is different. Mine went by very smoothly. I was given an Iv, as well as Anesthesia, and Oxygen. I only felt them flushing my IV and cleaning the area for the Biopsy I never felt "Pain". Today I am 1 day post op and I will say I am very Sore, I have to frequent breaks and I am very tired as well but Not in pain, More like my side feels extremley bruised. I was lucjy to not have any bleeding after surgery, so after my procedure I was able to go home after about 3 hours.
