I just realized that the ending of this one is when the sea of thieves story takes place cause Guybrush says he got married and was going to the sea of thieves for their honeymoon

Yes, according to Rare's devs, the Sea of Thieves tall tale takes places between Curse and Escape.

The irony in them asking if people are going to miss this type of genre and game design when it is gone. By 1996, the writing was on the wall; console games didn't have stories, but they were very fun to play and very accessible. Meanwhile, point and click adventure games were stuck in a rut while Shooters-and-RPGs became compelling PC game experiences. Decades later, and while no one missed the esoteric puzzle nature of point and clicks, it's clear that most games could use the sort of writing you only saw in a point and click adventure game.

I wouldn't hold your breath. Perfect Entertainment's demise was a mess. Multiple legal cases, internal conflict. The rights to this game specifically are likely spread over multiple companies now (nobody seems to know) and the rights to release a Discworld game are similarly tied up. I'd like to see this as much as the next fan. But I simply don't think the nostalgic market for this game is big enough for anyone to put the time and money in to sorting the legal problems required to even sell the classic version, let alone extra money to remaster it.

They extended the start so it plays long enough to show both the special edition and ultimate talkie credits. After that it switches to the original mix.

@SpiritRoot I tend to agree, but given our choices are: 1) No Voices (original release), 2) No iMuse (Special Edition) or 3) One questionable music choice (Ultimate Edition) I think ultimate edition is the best choice. I would have preferred they extend the end of the mix instead, but I have I have a suspicion there was a technical reason they couldn't do that.

I remember being mesmerized by this game as a kid. Even though I didn't speak English, I still loved everything about it. A lot of the puzzles were difficult for me, and I had a much older neighbor who helped me all the time.

I often played PC games on a very poor quality PC build when I was a kid. Most games were slow and laggy. What I hadn't realised until now is that they probably often lacked sound too, so now I know why I only managed to get through about 0.2% of this game, hahahaha. I don't think the actual text worked properly either.

I wish they would remaster this, it's the best one in the series or one of the best at least. I've been currently playing Secret and LeChucks Revenge and I actually think Secret is better than the LeChucks Revenge (which I think is the most popular if I'm not mistaken?). They're all good but it's between Secret and Curse for me as my favourite one I think 😊🙏🏼

i recently beat this game using game guide after never beating it when I was a kid. according to the guide there was a glitch that doesnt let you progress past get to the end of the 3rd act. I always was stuck. Now as a grownup, I realize this game is nearly impossible to beat. Some of the puzzles or stuff you combine makes no sense. Also I picked up plenty of items that had no use. Which probally made it even harder.

You get most of the achievements for just completing the game without using hints, in under 3 hours. The only other ones are: Inhale some helium during the last sequence (I do this in this video, but it is not required to complete the game.), Get lost in the Dinky Island jungle (just walk around randomly) then use the phone box - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rWGUf56Pl5Zlj8k, and Wait 5 minutes and 'die' in LeChuck's machine - kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqjUd4anapanlbc

The music in the credits has such a soothing and nostalgic feeling for me, I guess it's just a nice reminder of passing this game a long time ago reading the funny credits. I still sometimes sing the tune to this day.
