Wow these are incredible. What a great channel to stumble on! That triple activation where they chase each other is perfect! Do you weld them or use soldering gun? Maybe its tig welding?
@rollingballdave23 күн бұрын
All my sculptures are welded. Glad you like the three ball tipping arm. It's one of my favourites too.
@suntzu612223 күн бұрын
@@rollingballdave Are you using a tig welder? IMO the thing that really brings them to life is honestly that black coating which gives you NICE contrast against the color of the marbles. Love your work! Looking forward to new videos :D

Hi David. My mum (your auntie Sylvia) mentioned your work and I've been looking at lots of your sculptures - amazing! Just looking at this ball sizing and wondered if you had ever used this in any of your sculptures, so that dependant on the ball size the marble could take a different route, etc. Thought it might look good as the balls droped through a different part of the track. Hope you and your family are all well. Mark

Be curious what the ballpark figure was for this type of thing. I would think a premium for the purpose it was going to be used for.

So you start with a specific size/weight ball? Can you ever change them? Is there a specific manufacturer? It’d be cool to be able to swap marbles out with different colors
@rollingballdave2 ай бұрын
We measure and check the weight of each ball/marble specifically for each sculpture. Balls can be changed as look as they are switched with the same size and weight balls.

You should make a video of your story. Also I didn’t realize you used such large gauge metal for your work. Are they all this hefty?

It makes me think of how an atom might move. They say an atom is mostly space with electrons, protons , neutrons and a bunch of other tiny particles moving around in an orderly way that gives it presence, gives life to a solid particle.
@rollingballdave3 ай бұрын
Great analogy 👏 👍
@rowgler13 ай бұрын
A very logical sculpture. The balls rise on a central line. Most direct axis from the bottom to the top. All the rest of the space is used for the clever gravitational meandering of the spheres. Can be viewed from all sides. The result of a well ordered and beautiful mind with excellent metal working and welding skills. Amazing. 🌀⚖🛠🗝✴
