Rolling Ball Sculpture - Marble Machine - Cutaway Series - Hexagon cn:188

Continuing the cutaway series of sculptures is this Hexagon desktop sculpture. The sculpture includes three sets of balls on track, a big dipper and helical lift to take the 25mm marbles back to the top. It measures 620mm high x 700mm wide x 150mm deep and has been powder coated in matte black.

Dave, When did you switch from curved track spacers to "V" shaped? Any reason? Aesthetic or ease of fabrication? I just finished my first copper wire sculpture and would really like to try steel. It was so satisfying and there is so much to learn. Thanks, Mike

I made the switch quite a while ago. It was both, to differentiate my sculptures and for ease of fabrication. No one else was using V-shaped at the time, but have seen a couple of copies recently.
