I can play harmonica and tin whistle by ear. Never use sheet music. Pop music only. How you obtain the notes in this video is exactly the same process I used on those instruments. But of course much easier as they both are diatonic. Just purchased a Boehm flute. My initial thoughts are (again entirely by ear) is to imagine the flute as 12 instruments. 12 major key instruments. So go through them over and over again, until I have all 12 scales in memory and can play by ear a few simple tunes in all the 12 keys. Then just carry on picking more and more pop songs to reinforce these 12 unique instruments. Does this sound sensible to you?

I listened to her videos here in yt since 2 to 3 years ago. I really like her videos and her play, it's calming and bring me back to the past. This is my first time peeking in the comments and was shocked to see that almost the comments where from 10 years ago and check the date of the release of this vd and was literally shocked when I saw 10 yrs. I just now realize that I really like old music, and play even thought am 17 years old 😂 I dunno why but I love it. Like this for example and the music of one direction, westlife, etc.
