With shoulder problems, you should consider to optimize your draw cycle in a way to make more use of your larger back muscles. Great Video btw. bought the same bow a few months ago as an entry level bow, coming from Trad archery. I like it, but I added some limb dampeners and a drop away rest from Ripcord. For me a perfect beginner Compound bow for someone just starting into Archery or wanting to try Compound bows. Thanks for the review!

How do you compare the Decree IC vs the original dream season DNA??
@RealRadNek
@RealRadNek 2 ай бұрын
In retrospect, I would shoot the DNA over the Decree IC. The torque on the Decree was harder to control. Inevitably, with the Decree, I would have a flyer about every 4th or 5th shot where I got a little lazy but the DNA was more forgiving when you have a lazy shot. My record deer kill is still with the DNA, 82 yards, even though I am now shooting a Mathews V3. You can see that kill here - kzbin.info?search_query=82+yard+axis+bow+kill - Thanks for watching and all the best.

I just picked up my first bow, which is the bear cruiser G2, the max poundage on my bow is 70 pounds right now I have a set up to 60 pounds at 27 inch draw length soon I’ll move it back to 70 pounds once I get used to it

That's a good plan. Start at a lower poundage and make sure you work on getting your form correct. Then move up in poundage as you get proper form down. There are plenty of good videos here on KZbin to help with proper form. Thanks for watching.

ONN says 15ft drop protection on the box. I dropped my phone less than two feet in the ONN case and the phone shattered front and back. I called ONN and they said they don't cover drop protection. They are advertising falsely and I am hoping I can find enough people to file a class action lawsuit against them. My new Blackout Distinct ($530)suffers from horizontal nock travel. The bow has NEVER shot a bullet - through paper. The Whisker Bisquit tames this problem somewhat. Since it is the lower cam that leans and causes the problem, it cannot be fixed! I do not recommend this excuse for a bow.

@@RealRadNek Actually, yesterday I put a .024" piece of feeler gauge under the lower, left limb. This sprung the lower cam straight and I'm getting no more right nock tear, through paper. Today I'm working on vertical nock travel, now that horizontal travel is 'fixed'. Retarding the lower cam by 2 twists of the C.C. seems to be working. (all adjustments on this bow are counter-intuitive!) Try laying an arrow against the right side of the lower cam on a Blackout bow, I'll bet the cam leans into the string.

I’m curious how elk, and all the exotic deer are on your property? Did state of texas stock them or how does this work?
@RealRadNek
@RealRadNek 9 ай бұрын
Wouldn't that be nice if the TPWD showed up with a truckload of deer for my property but here's the reality. I own 101 "no fence" acres on an association ranch that is 10,600+ low fence acres where 15-20 elk were released free range on the property 20+ years ago by the land developer. The elk have established small populations on the ranch and beyond since the whole ranch is low fence. The Axis herds are large and strong in the whole of the Hill Country of Texas and their populations have been well established for years going back 50+ years on our ranch and elsewhere. However, in recent years Axis populations are numerous enough to put pressure on native whitetail populations since axis are better suited for survival being both grazers and browsers. WT are browsers only giving them a distinct disadvantage in lean rain years. All the other exotic deer types are rare in number as they get shot rather quickly. Thanks for watching. Blessings to you.

I just got a set of these but the chisel tip instead of cut on contact after seeing my buddy drop a buck with it. I set the tension up good and carry them and fixed with me. I believe that regardless of broadhead a good shot placement will kill. Even a sharpened field tip can kill if in the correct spot. I figure if the mechanical doesnt work at least I still have the fixed blade. Ive also heard that basically all mechanicals you should shoot only broadside animals which is a con as you cant always get that shot. but thats why i have both. start with the fixed and if i have time and can switch ima switch. good to see a video where there is some cons as almost every broadhead out there people just talk up.

Im not usually one to nitpick but where you tightened that set screw up is almost guaranteed why it didnt open on that pig. Also broadheads arent really meant to be shot multiple times. They have such a fine edge they loose a lot of that edge after the first shot and i wouldnt shoot anything with a broadhead i put through a foot of cardboard 4 times. Cardboard is horrible on blade edges, if you shot those arrows into the cardboard 4 times they were probably a third as sharp as from the box. Not saying they are good broadheads, im actually doing research to see if they are worth buying for myself but there were just a lot of variables stacked against the broadheads caused from tightening the set screw unless you did it properly per instructions. If you made all the proper precautions and set the tension properly than thats on the broadhead and id pass on them but its just unclear if you read and properly set up the set screw tension is all.
@RealRadNek

Thanks for watching. I go back to my original conclusion. They should have made a user friendly simple design that does not require me to take specific tools into the field to make sure the thing works before I shoot it. That has nothing to do with sharpness off the blades. At present, I have fixed all broad head issues I had with mechanicals by switching to fixed. I now shoot a 150 grain 2 blade fixed solid piece of hardened steal that I sharpen and hone with a grinder and leather wheel to razor sharp. Last animal I harvested with it was a bear shot near long ways through the bear and it passed all the way through. You can watch that here on my channel if you like. It has solved my bone issues and failed openings as well as having to drag alan wrenches into the field. Thanks again for watching and happy hunting this season. Lord bless you.

@@RealRadNek it was set properly but shooting them into a block of cardboard loosened them up. I watched another video after yours and the dude had absolutely zero issues, he mentioned you want to be able to push the broadhead through paper and the blades just barely not open and its set properly. He shot it through a steel sheet, a board, and a concrete block and it didnt break or even really dull the tip. The curved blades bent downward but never broke, he said it was field point accurate, he had taken many animals with that broadhead effectively and no issues. Im glad you found a broadhead you like but i just didnt really agree with a negative review over an error you made(i dont mean that in a mean way its just how it is ya know). You dont need to take tools into the field but even if you did its not a big deal. Tree stands and blinds have to be taken into the field and a range finder for archery. Its probably the same size allen you have to use to set your pins on your sight so its really not a huge deal, they are ready to hunt with out of the box and most broadheads dont get shot more than two or three times before they are replaced so they arent designed to withstand a dozen shots. They are made to be razor sharp for the first couple shots and then either rebuilt with new blades or just replaced all together. I wouldnt give them a bad review based on what happened because i was trying to find videos on whether to buy them or not and one guy said yeah they are amazing and you say no so it would confuse people if in the end you say well it may have been me where i tightened it down and shot it into a foot of cardboard 4 times so that may be why it didnt deploy on the pig. Also you shot back on the pig not really hitting any bones which would have also been a helpful ending recap. Tightened the set screw too tight and didnt hit bone is why it didnt function properly on the pig.

@@ratedredneck96 my original concussion still stands. Have I ever had an issue with NAP Killzones when using them for several years? Only once when I hit shoulder bone and got about an inch of penetration. That’s why I use fixed heavy now. But never did I have to adjust a Killzone out of the package to get it to work properly. This broadhead never worked properly out of the package new. That is my point. The more complicated you make something, the more room for error of use from the designers intention. That’s my point. On another point you have not raised but I mention in my review is the fact of the screw to hold tension on the blades that deploy is it moved so easy that if I was hiking to my stand trail blazing, I would not have confidence that the screw did not move. Just give me a broadhead that works every time straight out of the box without me having to figure out how it works. I don’t want to go find a piece of paper to run a brand new broached through to see if it’s working properly nor do I want to have to adjust it not knowing for sure if I got it right or not. That’s all. All the best and thanks for watching.
