Appreciate the details! My girlfriend is opening her own bakery and the space doesn't currently have them installed. Besides the safety aspect, there's also the use of having a water tight seal. It sucks having to refill the pre-soak and sanitizer sinks all the time because the plugs don't fit great. These solve that issue

There’s check stems available for most brands. Faucet parts, then click the brand in question, then scroll down. Not all brands have them available. And it’s not it’s own section.

How can I pull out a pressed in valve cartridge?

@@atshelp The Encore valve has a knurled ring at the top to prevent it from pulling out easily.
@atshelp2 жыл бұрын
@@keithtaege3187 if it’s encore, it’s not pressed or knurled. I believe you might be describing the barrel. They sometimes get seized in the valve with calcification. It is supposed to pull right out with the stem. Try a lil WD-40. Let it soak. Then thread the stem back in the barrel with the handle for leverage. And pull.

Sometimes calcification sets in around the barrel. Leave the nut off. Screw the handle back on for leverage. Wd-40 all around the barrel. Lots of wiggling back and forth to break it loose.

I'm installing in my garage an American Standard 8350235.002 Faucet into an old style cast iron porcelain/enamel commercial deep sump sink that sat in my back yard for about 30 yrs. (not too rusty either). The video helps as I had purchased with the faucet a T&S B-0230K nipple kit or as they call it installation kit. I'm glad you answered someone else's question about putting pipe tape on the nipple part going to the faucet but with this kit I threaded the nipple into the block part and it doesn't seem to tighten before it bottoms out. I plan to put about 8-10 wraps of tape on it or whatever it needs to make it tighter. I was wondering about the slight offset of the faucet inlet, is that for slight variations in the hole centering of different sinks and/or for leveling wall mountings?
@atshelp3 жыл бұрын
That is weird that is bottoming out without tightening. There is supposed to be a slight taper to the thread. But thread tape should help. As far as the offset, yes it is just in case the faucet holes are slightly off. A lot of builders will punch holes in their stainless on site.

My question is to the Ats guy my kit has the large black washer. You did not use that in your video with the backsplash mounted faucet if I use it which side does it go on the side where the faucet is or the backside behind that Jagged washer
@atshelp3 жыл бұрын
Black rubber washer on the backside of the sink before the jagged washer. This helps lock it in place and prevents slippage. 😉

What kind of drain basket do you use for a stainless commercial sink that has no recess for the basket flange? The sink bottom is flat, with a short "neck" flange underneath the sink.

Hey, amigo. I just installed a new faucet with compression valves and check stems just like you showed in the video. I turned the shut off valve back on after the install, and the cold water was running and will not turn off. Is there some trick to these things? I've never worked with them before.
@atshelp3 жыл бұрын
I would turn the water off and check that check stem for debris. Then when turning it back on, do it slowly so you don’t shoot a punch of pressure at that check valve all at once.
@deezynar3 жыл бұрын
@@atshelp Thanks for the reply. I figured out what the problem was. The brass section has a plastic washer/seal attached to the bottom, and that thing was a bit off center. It wouldn't let the brass part nestle into place and seal. I pushed the seal over so it was centered, then I used a clamp and pressed the brass part down, which did the trick. I asked three different plumbers for advice and none of them had ever encountered that problem before.

Don't buy any of his bull shit. just go to home depot get a $6.45 brass connector with 1/2 inch male nipple with 90 degrees at the other end with 3/8 hookup and find a flat washer to fit over the nipple and use Teflon tape and tie them together,it worked for me will work for anyone. The part is at home depot one the brass connectors sections If you want the part number let me know. Some of the online sites rip you off asking over $400 dollars for this stupid connection parts that is used to tie a $50 faucet to your sink!

my half inch nipple leaks. I am using teflon tape and pipe dope . how do you get it water tight ?.
@atshelp3 жыл бұрын
erik Bender lots of tape will usually do the trick. Only other tip I can give is the nipples have the hex on the inside if you can get a screwdriver big enough to fit in the groove to get it really tight. If all else fails, pipe dope. But I’d just layer up on the tape to be honest.
