Got a Red 9 without much bluing left back in the 90s. All serial numbers match and it shoots. Not much rifling and the gun's miserable ergonomics means it's mostly for the bang factor but I love the fact that it was imported over a century ago now and still runs. Think I paid $600 for it in about 1995? My treasure.

There was also a factory +1 magazine extension. I have one. Also the plastic buffer gets brittle over time. Wilson Combat makes one which fits it

Harrington and Richardson maintained production of a set of firearm designs should go back to the late 1800s and they did it with a certain amount of hand quality that you’ll never find anymore. The bling on some of their guns is just outstanding. However, with their revolvers, they did not do the kind of product development that made for an accurate shooting Performance They made these guns to a price point and they were able to manufacture these to a low price point for affordability for a very long time over several generations. That many ways is quality delivery. But I’ve heard people say they are rugged, but they’re not well built. They were designed flaws over period of time. One of them is the lack of development in the forcing cone I owned a Harrington and Richardson’s model 999 sportsman, which is a nine shot break up at revolver and it was horribly accurate. It would’ve been better off being a six shot revolver instead of a none shot Revolver, and they could’ve gotten better alignment with the cylinder and the forcing cone from a shot to shot I think a break action 22 revolver is an excellent idea of being that low pressure the last long time and I wish it would bring it back, but they’d never be able to bring back that last years Bluey anymore. There are too many EPA regulations and OSHA regulations In check, you almost have to go to a country like turkey to reproduce these I hear that dies and mold were sold in 1986 when Harrington and richard closed down and the recipient of these dives and moles New England firearms refused to make the revolvers I would like to hear from the people they made that decision

Yes, they came out with an award-winning functional single shot target pistol Why didn’t they keep on making it throughout the years? They could’ve made a few hundred a year and kept this going since they had a very serviceable design.🧐

Can you remove importer markings on a C&R firearm.. NOT the factory gun serial number.. ,JUST the importer mark. EXAMPLE: C.A.I. Georgia, VT.

I have my dad's Ultra Sportsman, which he bought used in the late 40's or early 50's. It saw plenty of use over the years, so it isn't in the same condition as yours. Soon after he shipped it to me in Arizona, I wore it to go quail hunting in the desert using the black leather full flap holster that he kept it in. At one point, I looked down, and to my horror, it was gone. It had fallen out some time over the course of the morning. I frantically turned around to try and retrace my steps and fortunately, about five minutes later, there it was lying on the sandy ground. I was so thankful that I'd found it! Thanks for the info!

Older Colt revolvers are are nice , the only thing that would make them better is if they had been made by Smith & Wesson so you could count on them to go bang 💥 every time you pulled the trigger.

Very nice video,... Thankyou.!.... Many times, in all types of handguns the mag. Is the culprit when the bolt is not held back after last round. I have a p08 where this is the case..the mags work fine in my other luger, and I changed the hold back lever spring but did not fix the issue. I believe the bolt is not travelling far enough to the rear, or,... The hold back lever is not high enough to capture the bolt... Have you ever seen this condition, and can you recommend a test to determine the issue? .. Thanks.😊

I thought you said they went out of business in 1986 ,then you said it was in production from 1931 to 2000 , get back with me
@martinfranke8462 ай бұрын
I believe H&R did go out of business in 1986. A company renamed "New England Arms" went forward from the, producing guns almost exactly like H&R, if slightly less quality. Company was renamed again, something akin to H&R, and that third iteration went out around 2000.

How do you spell grande rond de ma? How is the front sight attached to the pistol you show at 00:59? Or is it machined as part of the slide?
@flournoymason89612 ай бұрын
Nambus hit like a pocket pistol round. I'd rather have a American .4 auto or a German Luger any day of the week. The Brits had a cool top break .38 revlver and I'd take that over a Nambu in combat. Not saying Nambus aren't worth collecting but overall they are not the combat weapon that other countries had.
@engiturtle652 ай бұрын
while they aren't the best, something like .380 auto (which the nambu is close in power with) isn't a bad sidearm, especially in ww1 or ww2, the real reason you shouldn't use a nambu is because of it's bad quality (firing pin & springs)

Had one a few years ago. Beautiful pistol, fascinating design but it couldn't hit the broadside of a barn from the inside due to being shot out. Sold it for more than I paid for it. Don't really regret owning it but was really glad to palm it off on someone else.
