Wayne and Darla Noble's award winning display at OGCA focused on the GEWEHR 33/40, the elusive mountain carbine of the #wwii German Gebirgsjäger. Gebirgsjäger (German pronunciation: [ɡəˈbɪʁksˌjɛːɡɐ]) are the light infantry part of the alpine or mountain troops (Gebirgstruppe) of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The word Jäger (meaning "hunter" or "huntsman") is a characteristic term used for light infantry in German speaking countries. Their display has phenomenal #rifles that we will cover here in detail and provide a history lesson on the WWII German mountain troops!
