Needed to take a linisher to my driveshaft before new abs ring would fit, pattern part though. I've been working on cars for 45 years and this was one of the worst jobs I've ever done....and I've a fully equipped DIY workshop and even an induction heater for seized fittings, but no ramp. 6 hours to remove the bolts, one of which broke. Old ABS sensor broke so had to be drilled out. Then alinging the various arms was a nightmare too. There are quite a few tools involved that the average Joe may not have. Probably worth getting a Mercedes specialist to do this, I won't do another.

I broke the front latch on my 89 900T. Left side. Any videos or tips on how to replace just the front latch mechanism? I found a used one.
Nice but I did could not understand all of the sockets' the sizes... A list in this video's description, of the tools needed, would be an easy and helpful thing to add.

Hi! I have an '04 2.0T and want to install 2005+ subframe. As 2003-2004 cars have different set of engine/transmission mounts, I'm not sure if such conversion for later subframe is possible. Maybe you have such experience and can tell me if I gonna be able to install 2005+ subframe on my '04? Thanks in advance!

Do you know how to remove the needles of the gauges on a 1997 Saab 900SE? Just pull off or rotate in reverse direction until loose? Thank you!

Why you want to remove the needles?

@@saabmastertech5852 My entire cluster is often losing power and I thought I could look at the other side of that circuit board and maybe find the problem. But, after very carefully removing the needles with a fork, I found it very difficult, maybe impossible, to take it apart further without breaking something. I think I will look somewhere else, like the wiring.

Does the car start when loosing power at the instrument cluster. If not, problem is from ignition switch.

For just the instrument panel, I got by without removing the steering wheel, turn signal or wiper switches - with a small caution. All the other switches, radio, SID, steering wheel cowl and the fascia - that large flat plastic piece will bend enough to get the air ducts free. But I imagine you don't want to take any risk with a customer's car and I don't know if all fascias such as carbon fiber and wood grain, will bend like my original black one. Just did this, again, on my 1997 Saab 900SE.
@saabmastertech585218 күн бұрын
Yes, it can be done without removing the steering wheel, with extra caution and care.

Hi, this should be done by only removing the 2 Tx25 screws that hold the unit in place, after disconnecting the connection rod that links to the bottom suspension arm. No need for cutting the rivet, as it cannot be put back in place afterwards.

@saabmastertech585224 күн бұрын
The motor is held by right side engine mount & left side transmission mount. You don't have to stay under the engine after removing the subframe. If you are not sure if the engine & transmission mount are not strong enough, support the engine with a beam.

Remove the glass: Remove the four screws from the underside, turn over the unit so that the back side is facing down, take hold of the sides and press in the catches with your fingers. Important Exercise great care. Do not touch the needles on the main instrument unit under any circumstances. This could cause faulty readings or damage the stepping motors.

Thank you for this! Do I need to keep the subframe bolts relatively loose and do quick alignment checks before I tighten them. Is there enough play to cause left side to right side difference of maybe 10mm for axis or the bolts will guide the subframe to exact spot? Just making sure if there is play I can use prybar and strap to set subframe axis as evenly as possible so I do not affect vehicle caster angle too much. I appreciate it! 🙏
@saabmastertech5852Ай бұрын
There is not a lot of play, once the subframe bolts are in place. Yes, you are correct. To leave the subframe bolts relatively loose for miner adjustments, before tightening them.

@saabmastertech5852 Is the WIS for powertrain removal pretty accurate? I'm just a bit cautious because I've never removed an engine before 😅, but I'm willing to give it a shot because my motor is blown anyways. And so far your videos among other have been really helpful. Your videos helped me fix so much wrong with the car. It's just too bad the head gasket blew and maybe even cracked the block 😞.
