Great video! I learn something new from all your videos. I have never used high temperature sealant on exhaust pipes before. I will try this on my next exhaust project. Thank you. Happy New Year.

What year and what engine is the car equipped with? There are several variations in the first part of the exhaust, I think mine was like this, now it's all welded together except for the rear drum:-(

2008 B235R Aero. Yes, there are several variations. It depends the year and model.

I bought my 9-5 used and have slowly been repairing issues. We're currently dealing with replacing a rear wheel bearing and while I was under the car, I noticed that a previous owner repaired an exhaust issue by replacing the resonator with a piece of straight pipe. What issues will this cause? I have been getting a random p0420 error that I know is related to the catalytic converter could the missing resonator be the cause (or partial cause of this)?

Catalytic converter damaging, perhaps it had occurred in the past. Engine misfire, exhaust leaks, turbocharger failure & aftermarket catalytic converters are the main causes. Removing the resonator, it will not cause any issues. Unless, the diameter of the pipe is reduced.

OK, thank you! Was already planning on replacing the catalytic converter. The car sat for several months due to time constraints and other issues that needed to be resolved first. We just recently (past month or so) got it running again. It was popping 2 codes, a p1110 (this one is fixed) and then randomly the p0420. @@saabmastertech5852
