I wish I would have came across this video a few months ago I opened up a shop on Etsy I have been buying stuff from them for some years now however I started my cell phone near and I saw one of my greeting cards and I actually paid my monthly fee they actually got the prophet that I made off the card that I sold and actually made me pay a fee order for me to shut down my shop which I thought was totally unfair ripped me off and it made me so upset on serious I'm trying to find other places that I can sell my digital designs with as of now haven't had no looks so far I think it's ridiculous that they would be trying to rip people off now with how things are going with the economy

My sales have been down too lately..it's Q4 and usually Q4 isn't that great for me like other sellers, March April and May are the best times for me. Also does anyone know if I can refund a customer on store Etsy credit? One of her item got lost in the mail, and she requested an Etsy credit instead of refund,I tried to Google it and couldn't find anything

True rant. lol I'm new to etsy this year around the summer time. But I have been selling on another platform that I am struggling to get my page seen. So I am trying etsy. I know that how we, as a society, view online selling must be updated. People are buying more and more online because of it's easier, quicker, and less time consuming than going to a store. Or you may have priorities that you really can't get out to shop or a customer may want something unique and different than what's available at the stores near them. Regardless of the situation, you are now providing customer service and products like a store. This is what you are signing up for. So being dependent on whatever platform and viewing it as passive income doesn't work anymore. There's more sellers online and in some cases offering similar products as you. What makes you stand out compared to the other seller? You have to make this advantage known and clear to your customers. I've learned some things that are helping to your customers. #1- Kindness, understanding, and listening to your customers needs trumps all matters. I had return customers simply because I made it clear that they could contact me with any question that had about a product. #2- Honesty. I had a question about a medical device I was selling and realized it didn't fit their needs. I explained this to them and I provided info on where they could get what they needed for their child. #3- Be willing sometimes to adjust your price especially if the person is buying multiple items. You can gain more from this transaction than staying firm to a price. Do this only if it's possible to do so. I've gained repeat customers that way. #4- If you can add a simple gift or coupon, please do. I've added simple things like sticky notes or a pen to the order. People are thankful because it's useful gifts. Only do it when you can. Don't pressure yourself to do this for every order. Anyways, running a store requires work but you will reap a lot in the end. Great video.

I hate when sites from all platforms allow handles of the same names, just when you have the one that’s right for you it’s already taken, Handles have to be unique from each other handles which is hard to come up with.

Everything you've suggested is everything I already do and have done. My shop is fully optimised and was before they even started rolling it all out. Sales and traffic are down 60% . Im in the UK, and i know many others are having the same issue with the new algorithm change. We can't blame the huricane or elections since we dont ship abroad yet here we are. The algo has been devastating so far!
