When restoring the 1845C, what hydraulic fluid did you refill with? Mine is suppose to have 10W-30 along with an HTO additive (no longer available).

Thanks for the video. Having the same issue and I am constantly having to rock it back-and-forth to get it going. I thought maybe the spring had stretched but thanks to your video I now know that it can be adjusted. I am super impressed with your restoration. Would love to talk to you more about some things.

Great videos. Was wondering if you had any of the wiring. Even pictures would help. Between the wire diagram not matching my machine I’m having a heck of time tracing wires.

How much clearance do you leave between the end of the pin and the brake disc?

To remove the internal snap ring, can it be done from the top under the seat? Or is it better to remove belly pan?

I don't see the bar on top. My cables go down to a pully then to the center to a double pully then back to the housing tube where everything is pushed in and held in with a snap ring just inside the tube.you mentioned pullys but didn't show any. I have to push everything back into the tube and install snap ring which seems like a difficult task without pulling the rops forward. Thought of jacking up one side to try from underneath. I see a plate that can be removed. There's just not enough room for my head and one arm to do it from the side. Has anyone done this from below?

When the cable breaks do the chocks just fall into the oil reservoir?

Yes many times and the spring will often get caught on the drive gear.

Really good video, wish you make more of them. One I need is about bucket going down on its own with machine off, 5-½" in 2 hours.

Got to empty tanks from oil to replace this?

I don't think you have to. The depth of oil should only be enough to cover chain at the bottom.

You said that you would show what happens when the parking brake pin sticks in. The reason I ask is that I just bought an 1845C. The one pipe that the brake pin slides in is bent and leaking oil. I think this is what happened. What keeps the oil from coming out around the pin when it is working properly?
@Caseguy1845
@Caseguy1845 3 жыл бұрын
There is too much oil in the car or it filled with water if it is leaking. There is only 6 qts of oil in each chain case.

But how do you get the staple pin out to remove the stop and spring?

You have to pry at it with a screw driver. Once there is space get a small hammer and punch and knock it out.

I dont have the view ports on top on my 1845c so its a different year I'm guessing. Got it in a estate sale for $500 and just needed a bearing rebuild. The axle was trashed but was able to weld and machine everything proper again. The park cables have always been broken but never engaged til today so gotta replace them I guess 😆

Yes, go to Messicks website. Part#134768A1 for the single lap bar 1845C (late model) and Part#H438178 (for most early models) with dual bars but check your serial number before ordering!
