I “discovered” Louis Hayward when I was binging on Saint movies (being a big George Sanders fan) and stumbled across The Saint In New York,”. OMG - I instantly fell in love with Louis Hayward! Where has he been all my life? His wry smile, his swagger, his impish good looks, that undefinable accent - his devil may care humor!!! He’s out of the era of Errol Flynn, Cary Grant - they just don’t make men like that anymore! I’ve been scrounging the internet for his films ever since. This one is brilliant and he is, of course, adorable! The movie is complete fun and the contrived happy ending still works somehow! I can’t figure out how he has faded into oblivion? Anyway thank you for presenting this film; it was very enjoyable and reinforced my perception of him. My infatuation renewed, I continue my quest to find his movies! Thank you again for presenting this film- I’ve watched it twice!!

How wonderful! I was madly in love with him from age 10 onwards, cycling to the cinema on Sundays to watch films from the 1930s and 1940s.

The old actors are the best, I watch some of the new movies , but only if I think it has a story & it’s a comedy. Otherwise I’ll keep looking for a movie from back in the 40’s 50’s or 60’s 😊I love them they’re clean, no sex filth or otherwise. 😊😂❤

I DO remember this Bob Hope movie; for an otherwise lily White cast , Drake is the only performer with any real business being cast in hindsight.

I think the name African -American is BS. Your American, unless your parents are straight from Africa, then your African.

she was not "passing" if she chose to make her white side the dominant claim. If one of her parents were white and she practically looks that way, then she is white with black in her. She does not look black in the least way. It is a disservice to think that one drop of black makes her just black. She did not "pass" anything because she has all rights to claim what she looks like and is. 🙄. It is the racist who use terminology of her "passing". She is practically white with a smaller percentage of other races in her genetics. Only on black biracials do the racist society want to apply the one drop rule, making her black by default? That within it self is racist.
