Dona Drake was an American singer, dancer, and film actress in the 1930s and 1940s. Although she was African American by ancestry, she presented herself as Mexican and went by the names Una Novella.

No. She was NOT A BLACK! She was a beautiful Aryan cave woman! 😠 Just kidding. I like pretending I'm an angry white man, upset that black people aren't believing the lies my people have told about them for centuries.

@@adpowell1414 no she was black, passing for white. we in the Black American community, have families like this, its common... but I notice how you've changed over the years, because you said a couple of years ago she was white, I assume your punk ass did some research and found out she was black. now you're saying she's mixed now at least..🤔🤔🤔 stay out of our ethnic group because you know nothing about it!

@@adpowell1414 If it were up to you, many black American families in this country would not be Black. Adam Clayton Powell Jr. who was one of our greatest leaders of all time, wouldn't be black... His first wife Isabel Washington would not be black, her sister Fredi Washington would not be black. Beyonce's mother's family would not be black. In fact, if you were to look at Beyonce's family on her mother side. You would straight up look at them and say.. these are not black people. Especially her grandmother and her great-grandmother. And Tina, Beyonce's mother is very proudly black, she expresses it a lot, Rolanda watts, A black women who had a talk show back in the 1990s, her father would not be black according to you. Henry Louis Gates Jr, black professor.. Of African-American studies..... his father would not be black according to you.. Rock Newman, over there on the Rock Newman KZbin channel, he wouldn't be black. Cab Calloway wouldn't be black, his sister Blanche Calloway wouldn't be black. Lena Horne will not be black according to you, Cab Calloway, Lena Horne, Fredi Washington Adam Clayton Powell Junior were very proud black people. If they were alive today they will look you in your face and tell you they are black... Yeah you don't know anything about the Black American Community you have no idea about our identity and admixture bloodline and our ethnic group you should be quiet and stop talking so much. We have mgm's.. (multi-generational mixed) with inside the Black American Community, some black people have an enormous amount of European percentage. More than the average, and the average is 15 to 25%. It goes up significantly higher. Alot of times they marry each other. Especially back then. But they are all part of the Black American ethnic group. And they identified as black.. You don't know what the hell you're talkin about! get the hell out of here. And stop trying to intrude on someone's ethnic group, especially if you don't know anything about that ethnic group.. Passing was a common phenomenon back then, back then a lot of people did it. Many black Americans today had family members who did pass including within my family.. It was very common.. they married with inside white communities and Families, and many black Americans never seen their family member ever again.. That was very common.. it Happened a lot! So you don't know anything about our ethnic group you don't know anything about our families and you don't know anything about our bloodline heritage. . In order to pass for white you have to literally look white, and many of them did, because it was very dangerous. So they had a significant amount of European blood in them. But their family.. their culture.. their ethnic group is of the Black American ethnicity.. You should be quiet and stop talking so much😮

@bobbyschannel349 indeed! I agree . J Edgar Hoover passed. I do not see how...but he did. Most of these people have afro phenotypes. Very subtle. It depends on the lighting and photographs. Other humans passing for other humans. There was no reason for that type of insanity. Gosh, passing just to be treated like a human being. That crap should have not been allowed. Sad colorism still exists.

@@adpowell1414 Obviously you don't know anything about the tradition of passing to avoid the prejudicial (racist) nature of Hollywood (and this country) at the time. In the United States of America she would be considered a black woman, so she kept that part of her life secret. A horrible legacy of our nation.
