Much respect on this build the Ariens was a good choice. I myself have a custom Craftsman 45" vtwin I'm trying to finish up some issues I ran into. Like changing impeller pulley size smaller diameter and also double belted too you then have to change the pulley brake configuration too. Also putting a side mounted muffler on you then can't use the handle to housing brace for that size. Another thing being a Honda GX690 nobody makes any performance parts and they say it's governed electronically and mechanically and there's nothing that tells you anything on what to do. I think the problem is solved l think for every issue including the governor

basically, all these type of snowblowers are underpowered, by swapping with a slightly bigger engine, it makes a world of difference to my experiencel, when doing such a power increase, it is necessary to add some weight to the front of the bucket to avoid the blower climbing on the snow instead of biting in., I done something similad and I had to add 60 lbs to the front of the bucket to control the climbing action. very good project
