What camera setup did you use and how did you hook it up?

It is a RunCam. You just need a standard connector to solder to it and pug it into the Rx. You only need the + and - wires. You could also use a small 5V battery.

@@Thatbodytech It is the RUN Thum. But I do not think they make it. I think it was replaced with the Freestyle. They have the Run Thum Pro 4K but the one I have would have been in the middle of the two as far a price. Although, the shape is similar to the Run Thum Pro 4K.

My pleasure... Good choice. It is less expensive and the motors can handle high voltage in case you want to push 3s-4s in the future.

@@telecomandorc Thanks for all of the suggestions.. I just have to figure out what to do with the old E' Tronics. I really wanted the Tekin gear but the LHS i went to had the CC C10 kit in stock. I've been seeing on FB and some of their groups folks complaining of melted wires/ESC's and the like. I was scared of CC but i decided to take a chance. One guy i think was exceeding the current rated connectors...

@@gewglesux I have never had wires met. But I have had wires unsolder or the capacitors wetting the bed (CC replaced the Bamba Moster X at no cost). Interestingly, it has only happened to me on 3s (never on 2s or 4s). It is the ripple voltage usually or the motor is geared way too high.

With this type of issue, does it happen while TSM is active or can you turn TSM to zero percent to get around it?

Usually you can just turn it to 0. And sometimes the Rx just wets the bed.

Based on a very uneducated guess I'd think these come over in shipping containers. Several thousand of those would fit in a container. That means shipping cost increased $60,000 to $100,000 dollars per container. I'm pretty sure a container cost a few thousand dollars to ship a few months ago. Even if they come by air I'm not buying the cost increased that much. Me thinks it's more likely Traxxas was either really happy about pre orders and decided to bend customers over another $20 worth or orders were down and they decided to bend customers over another $20. I'd be easier to forgive if they just admitted "we're really extra greedy" at least i could respect the honesty. Now i just think they're greedy liars.

If I go to the shop and it's 2 6 9. 9 5 I'm done that's to me called a bait-and-switch it's been advertised for that price and then we waited for him to come out and now they're going to be 270 they're out of their f****** minds I won't buy one just because of that and I'm a Traxxas fan and I have multiple Traxxas vehicles and I guess I won't own this one because there's corporate greed involved

I think that is what they fail to see. They can make their money back on hop ups. But some long time fans may start to look elsewhere. Internet is broad to shop.

But the fact that they did it before the 29th after so much excitement and the entire "oh look, the new mini Maxx leaked" propaganda is what I consider sly. It really is not cool especially for the brand loyalist. I agree with you that it is wrong.

Buy an Omni terminator if you don't already have one. I've not driven a mini Max but it's gonna have to be a really special little truck to be as good as the Rlaarlo and near impossible to be $50-$80 better. I'll know for sure which is better once my buddies gets delivered. The mini Max may not be bad but the Omni is really good. Even handicapping it down to 2s like the mini Max I'd expect it to still be faster and all around a better performer. That standard center diff is gonna make a huge difference. It'll take a lot more money to bring the mini Max up to par spec wise. By that point you can order about every upgrade offered for the Rlaarlo and have a bullet proof mini basher.

The tires will rub. You will need to mount it higher. The wheelbase is also a little different, so you will need to trim a bit.

The bead of the tire needs to go between the ring and the rim of the wheel to lock in the bead. It could be the rim is not tight enough.

I'm going back Monday for the transformation. I already purchased a crap load of 2 S batteries... but i do have other 4 S batteries for other models.. What would you suggest for a high end 2S system?

@@gewglesux Depends on the price range. One of my favorite motors is the Tekin Pro4 HD 4300Kv. It is awesome on 2s with an Tekin RX8. I would not go with 4s are it will be had on the entire truck and bearings. The Hobbywing 3665 is a great system. Power like no other. The least expensive would be the Quicrun 3660. The first two are sensored and the third is not. IF you want a Castle Creations, I would go with there 1215 motor and 4s with a Copperhead ESC. The Mamba can handle more power, but the Copperhead has been more reliable for me.

I now have the option to make it almost better than what i really wanted in the first place. so a few extra dollas aint gonna hurt. I will say that since i already a kings ransom in new fresh batteries i'd like to stay with a high end 2s system.ive heard of Hobby wing before.. good results.

Going a 1foot a minute with my 100% scratch build trx4m blacked out bronco. Furitek/injura with 4 wheel steer. Have a MT and about $400 of parts so far waiting to be built. I'm still buying parts. Wider hexes,over drive trans and over drive aluminum axles.🤞🏻 Heavier springs thicker shock oil with custom foam in the tires and aluminum wheels.

I was stretching to spend $250 on this as I was on the fence with getting it all, but I definitely will not be at $270. I was going to have my wife get me this for Christmas, but I will just get another Arrma or something for less or even slightly more in larger scale. I used to be nothing but Traxxas ≈15 years ago and a few times since then getting in/out of the hobby a few times, after getting back in again I am not as close minded (and, my local hobby store is not great, so regardless of brand I am having to order RTRs and parts).

Do you know if they issued an apology? I have not found one. But the website states the following under terms and conditions: Policies, pricing, and item availability are subject to change without notice, and we reserve the right to limit quantities. Prices, quantities, and availability displayed on our site are subject to final approval at the time of order fulfillment. So they could have done it just for kicks.

@telecomandorc No. Traxxas doesnt issue apologies. As a dealer you either pay the extra to make sure you have it there in time or you dont get any and your customers go elsewhere. Its shady tactics but thats how it goes I guess.

I would not hold it against the hobby shop. They need to keep their contacts and have to do what the manufacture says. Hobby shops are just neighbors trying to make a living in some cases.

That's hilarious. I don't even drive my Xmaxx anymore. Ever since the Vigilante was released I've put batteries in my Xmaxx once and that was only to prove to my buddy that the Vigilante was better in every way by letting him drive them both back to back. The Redcat Valkyrie is a 4s large 1/10 basher that i paid $299 for delivered to my door direct from Redcat. It's literally twice the truck as the mini Max for $20 more. That's insane.

What was the extra for? You might be able to request a refund from customer service if the price was advertised at $310 but jumped to $340 at checkout without it being a shipping or tax thing.

@telecomandorc no, 319 pre tax and after the 5-8 percent state taxes it's 340. If out the door was 340 it was indeed a tax. But op doesn't specify if they upcharged with or without tax. Scummy practice that may be how your local hobby store operates. Normally you could call them out on it though. If traxxas did that internally don't buy from them. Don't support scummy business practices.

I see $20 may not seem like much, but now it will take you almost 7 hours of your work life to pay it. But, hey, it is a free country and it's your money. Even if it were shipping, they should have considered this long ago. Price it high and drop the price.

I hope the first comment is right that it’s just for the pre-orders. Otherwise, I’m gonna be really disappointed that they jack the price out of nowhere. Especially since I bought the horse and then they lowered the price a month later and then a couple months later after the HD parts that I spent over $100 on. Used to really love Traxxas. Also the biggest fanboy they had but it is getting silly.

They did the same thing with the Slash Modified. It's on their site now for 399.99 but it was originally 379.95, so they're probably just trying to get more money out of the demand. Honestly a pretty trash business practice, but not much we can do about it besides just not buying anything more.
