Regarding americans and weird cultural interactions, a couple weeks ago I was arguing with an american about something and they got mad and tried to end the discussion by saying "Whatever, go pay for your water, eurocuck". I was completely befuddled by this statement - americans had water bills, I was pretty sure, so I googled it and yep, they had water bills. So I asked in the chat, what the hell did that mean, and a couple of other americans thought I should've known, and it took another european to say "They think we have to pay for tap water at restaurants" Yep, turns out they thought that because a restaurant here will default to spring water if you ask for a jug of water, that european restaurants all charge for water. And they thought this was some huge, massive thing that I should've been offended by the very notion of. I was dumbfounded, and a little disgusted, by the idea that of all the places in the world, it would be *America* that gives you something for free, lmfao

Gonna put this around till i get a REAL and GOOD answer. What i don't understand is WHY do invaders WANT to invade people who have not desire to PVP, thus having NO motivation, and NO experience, and NO SKILL. If it was OPTIONAL, like using the taunt tongue, then the pool of players to invade would be FAR more entertaining to them, as they are always saying "Because i want a challenge and a good fight" My experience though is, that they don't, as they will say that but then complain (yes the same person) how unfair all the nerfs on invaders are, and argue that you are obligated to fight them, that they are entitled to your time. I understand that invaders are not really able to ruin your game, they are a mild annoyance, and you can just go get your souls back or what have you. But i have never heard any good logical reasons as to WHY they want to FORCE the interaction, all i get is "It's part of the game" Well yes, but it's not like the people your invade LIKE that. I can only think of two reasons, noob clubbing/easier fights make me feel good, and feeding off the idea the other person is having negative emotions. As of yet I've never gotten a sensible reply, I'm not going to go out and make outlandish claims, like it's akin to other *clears throat" Forced interactions shall we say.... But it does seem to be about entitlement to your time. If they are worried about having no one to invade, then maybe that just means there Isn't really a community large enough to support the mechanic, that forcing it is the only way it works (sort of sad really) and that they indeed are a minor part of the overall franchises community, vocal, invested and valid, but ultimately small. Invaders don't irk me, their personalities erk me when i read some of the more... low brow takes, like "Because you have to!!" or "If you don't like it don't play this game" as if they own the intellectual property rights... But of course you get equally slobbering takes from anti-invaders as well, blowing it WAY out of proportion. But really? Why do you want to force PVP with unskilled, inexperience, unmotivated people? It seems like it would be boring, and more over, why would you want to cause that person to have negative experiences? I know some think they are "Providing much needed excitement" but typically when questioned further the mask falls off and they just start saying "Well it's fun to watch the get mad!" IDK the whole thing seems toxic, there is a mutual combat system in Elden Ring, i don't really understand why no one uses it and just complains that people cheese them when they invade, or that people should have to deal with them every 5 minutes it feels like (Probably longer between but IDK the actual number)
