Just stumped up the cash, it's totally irresistible, the most important new keyboard in the world and MIDI being announced at Namm we expect. Its got a Steinway group made action with both polyphonic and channel aftertouch. Yes you heard that right. The sound circuits are completely analogue but somehow manipulable by MIDI, we have yet to find out, and of course Rhodes Tines this time updated - holding the same tones (and more) but much less likely to fail. What will be done with software we do not know. It plays like a dream, it's a players instrument better than all the other Rhodes I am told (and my ears guess).

EGADS he makes that sing. I'm listening to him just EMOTE off the Rhodes and then he adds those luscious left hand string voicings. Wow. great work. I had a Mark III suitcase 88 back in the day...might have to get a MK8.

Excellent video! Thank you for taking the time to show us your work. One question: what effect does adjusting the hammer height have? This is not mentioned in the Rhodes manual. Also how does the electric tape hold up ofer the years? Thank you again. Phantastic work.

@goldphinga Thanks for this very helpful video. I just have a question about the recommended sequence for restorations. I'm about to install new damper arms and felts on a 79 Mark II. Once I am done with the dampers and I've set the tone bars and springs at the correct height, what do you do next? Do you work in this order: set optimal strike line, adjust escapement, adjust voicings to taste and then finally tune each key? I know these things have to be done multiple times over but I wasn't quite sure in what order. I would be very grateful for any advice.🎹

Very nice demos and sounds always at the top! But unfortunately far from the ones I get with my KKS88MK2 as a controller. For example, with the Dyna-Mite preset of the V8PRO, by playing on the parameters of curved speed / depth, nothing is up. Ditto on Anthology. Unless there are additional effects (audio or midi) nothing will do. Too bad.....

Nothing like a beautiful grand piano. This sounds fake and synthetic because that's what it is.

Terrible trailer, tells me nothing. Pretty much everyone who is interested in the plugin will be wanting it for electric pianos so just find a good sounding rhodes and show us what it can do. I don't know who is advising Rhodes on pricing and PR but it is not good. 😑

I always loved the Rhodes for its classic sound it is known for. Now I watch this video and realize with this new MK8 Series it can so much more. Love this complexity and depth in sounds. The band is outstanding by the way...

Great series Dan, very very useful! After the restoration it sounds very similar to the MK8, focused and tight. It sounds very even across the range.

Can't afford the physical unit but these plugins take up less space and can carry all at the same time. Another tool in my box.

Great playing Sir !! Strangely even if the piano sounds more defined/precise after the refurb I love the character it had before. That would be a tough choice to choose one sound or the other... There were bad notes but also a kind of magic growl. Maybe the tomebars springs and grommets need some playing to loose a bit of that tightness.
