Worse customer service ever been waiting for tips for one of there rods since october would spend any more money on any of there products SHOCKING
@wharfeegoАй бұрын
Great tips. Nice to see a top angler using a matchman hook tyer. I note that when you trim the line off the hook and loop you appear to let the tag end drop to the floor - I suppose that a short length of tag end won't necessarily harm wildlife - but personally I always try to recover any line that needs discarding.

Well explained I only buy shimano gear I'm nearly 50 and I've been buying shimano all my fishing life because it's pure quality, daiwa aswell are quality but shimano always wins for me, I know people will read this and say daiwa all the way but I think once you've fished with a certain brand if it works well for you it tends to stay with you, your best mate might love daiwa but you love shimano it's a good bit of banter who's better daiwa or shimano.??, 👍

Proper test of a pole that. Those match kits must be strong for that probably get a 13-14s in them easy. Looks a lovely pole I want one.😢

Hello, for the 13ft 100gr rod, which reel would you recommend, Ultegra 5500 ci4+ or the Aero XR 5000 ?
@walterbrink94214 ай бұрын
You need to live in Soith Africa it's even worse, no spare parts at dealers. Shimano is loosing serious against other competitors, as iam a Shimano supporter but Diawa is really showing them who is who .

@Rika-ye9xf4 ай бұрын
Hello. They are available in Poland. I don't know them yet, for now I fish with three X7 models, which I consider to be the best for classic feeder fishing. The new models look promising, but the price is still very high. It's good that the guides were enlarged and the two-component structure was retained. Greetings, colleagues.😃👍👋

Too bad Shimano Europe has an overall bad policy when it comes to the customer support, extremely bad when it comes to warranty and a terrible pricing policy for the spare parts, that is when you offer spare parts, which I have to say, it is very rare. Thank God the reels are still decent, as for the rods....never again.

I can remember back in the day, I'd say around the mid/late 90s, me and my mate used to go to woodlands in Thirsk, we'd go after work for a short session, we'd set up on a peg each with an empty platform in the middle, once we were ready one or both of us would go to the spare platform in the middle, walk about, stamp on the platform and drop feed in the edge generally dead maggots and groundbait, by the time we got sat on our box's the fish were already on the bait.

Sounds like some good memories Alan!

Don’t you mean catch the angler’s not the fish it don’t matter what rod you use. You still catch on anything!!

Is the pole true 13 meters? Or is it like 12.2m and reached by adding an extension?
@arkaywat117 ай бұрын
I'm going to buck the trend now. Nearly 7 minutes you "played" (you just hung on) that fish for, on proper running line tackle, that fish would have been in the net in a minute or so. If it didn't go in your keepnet I wouldn't be surprised if that fish went belly up soon after release.
@andybenstead72407 ай бұрын
What you really mean is drag them out on a sea rod and sea hooks , take a look at Allan Scotthorne on the Wye with Peter Drennan , or Tamas Walter on the Danube both using poles and catching Barbel
@arkaywat117 ай бұрын
@@andybenstead7240 No, I mean on balanced tackle. I couldn't give a monkeys if the "big names" do it, it's a prolonged and unnecessary fight!
@andybenstead72407 ай бұрын
@@arkaywat11 But it is on balanced tackle , its just that some don't know , or so unskilled in how to fish for them in this way , so they think they have to go down the carp route by using 3 carp rods on the top of the bank and sit in a tent with their mates all weekend and oik them out
@stevewilliams54287 ай бұрын
@@andybenstead7240 That's not what @arkaywat11 is saying, at all. I agree with him. You are interpreting what he said and twisting it. There's a downside to the way the fish were caught in this video....The time it took to land it. I could catch barbel out my local with a 7' 10g spinning rod... But I won't. Remember.....The makers are trying to sell you tackle. So is Drennan, Playing a hard fighting fish like a barbel on that tackle, for that long is causing the fish extra distress. It's unnecessary.
@beefsteak85407 ай бұрын
I hope those barbel didn't end up in that keepnet..
@thezanzibarbarian57297 ай бұрын
I've stopped fishing now due to declining ill health, but go back some 20+ years and I fished the Warwickshire Avon for barbel. I used a 50p sized lollipop float but I had a medium feeder packed with chopped dendrobaenas and hemp and below that was laid some 18 to 24 inches of line on the bed of the river. I used a whole dendra but cut into two as bait. Took about 20 mins for the first barbel to show and then had 6 by the time I packed up. Unfortunately their size was nothing to write home about. Between 4lb 8oz and 6lb. But an enjoyable summers afternoon. And what about the fight. *_WOW!_* The weekend before I'd been to Clattercote and bagged up on double figure carp. Largest a tad over 15lb. But these _"little river torpedos!"_ They fought harder.
