I really enjoyed that, thankyou. I'd love see a managed descent with a complex arrinval procedure in the FSlabs A321, with plenty of altitude and speed constraints. I find the Fenix's speed management quite poor in these sorts of procedures. ..the Toliss is much better. I'd be interested to see how the FSL compares.

What about LPMA RNAVZ05 via PILIM. Not a particularly good example... I'm sure you know of better. Much as I love the Fenix I do find I get SPD ERROR AT messages on most approaches and have to use speedbrakes for lengthy periods. How are you finding managed descents generally in the FSlabs?
@BProduction22217 күн бұрын
@ I can already confirm, that if we purely compare both A321, FSLabs I think will do a better job. I haven’t had any issues so far, but I will admit I didn’t do anything over complicated either. My preference is to do an approach where we can do 1 to 1 comparison, so if you know of an approach where the fenix struggled for you, I can do that. Or I’ll find one at random.
@BProduction22217 күн бұрын
@paulmooney1655 SO, I found an approach, that you can try in the fenix, if you like, and I will do it in the FSLabs. That is NZQN RNP Y approach. Either runway 05 or 23. Doesn't matter. Important is that it is a Y RNP approach.

Which profile are you using for simbrief out of curiosity?
@BProduction22218 күн бұрын
Its interesting you ask, because I think that is probably one of the biggest issue people have but don't realize. If you use the standard A321 profile, you run into issues if you use a livery with less passengers than simbrief uses. I made a simbrief profile for each livery, changing each weight and passenger count per livery.
@AlexCzeremanski10 күн бұрын
So I’m assuming that you’ve just used a standard stock A321 simbrief profile and adjusted the weights for individual airframes. Did you use any perf factors? WTF/SL? IAE/CFM? For me I noticed the fuel flow still seems to be off unfortunately
@BProduction22210 күн бұрын
@@AlexCzeremanski Good question, and I can give you the exact procedure I take with every livery I download, including for other aircraft. However this procedure in my opinion is a must for the FSLabs. 1. So when the FSLabs initially released, I downloaded all of the liveries that I knew I would use. 2. Then, I opened each fltsim.cfg file of each livery and made a new simbrief profile with it. 3. My simbrief base profile, was the standard A321 CEO. 4. If it was a livery with Sharklets, I put a Fuel Factor of M03 for that livery. 5. If the livery was CFM or IAE, I adjusted the Takeoff thrust (LBF) of that profile and also changed the engine name so that it looks nicer. 6. Then by opening the fltsim.cfg file of a livery, you can see all of the weights, max passengers, min runways etc. , and whether or not they are in KG or LBS. 7. So in Simbrief, I enter that exact data as per livery, and change the Plan Units in simbrief to either KG or LBS as per livery. 8. In the fltsim.cfg you can also see how many ACT tanks the livery had installed (0, 1, 2), and adjusted my MAX Fuel weight in each profile as well. Of course I however first loaded the aircraft, and checked how much fuel the FSLabs could carry per ACT tank, since Fenix also has slightly different weights. 10. And then I entered in the registration, Fin number, Selcal and Mode S number for the final touches. 11. I set Default Freight to AUTO for each livery. 12. I set Contingency and Reserve fuel to AUTO for each livery. Next thing that is important, whenever you load the aircraft, make sure your PERF factor on the A/C STATUS page in the FMGC is set to 0. And I believe that is it. I do have base profiles for each variant of the FSLabs. So I then start from there, copy the airframe, and adjust as needed per new livery.

@@BProduction222 Many thanks! The main thing I really struggle with in the FSLabs is the weird taxi behaviour. I've got two axis one for NWS and one for rudder as I have sperate ruddrer pedals. I must say that the taxi just feels so weird. The slightest stronger turn will make the aircraft turn like almost 90 degrees. I'm also quite experienced I've been flight simming since 2012 and also work IRL in aviation so the knowledge is there, but I'm not sure is that the way the inteded it to be or is it just user error?
@BProduction2229 күн бұрын
@@AlexCzeremanski You are not the only one. There are a few people with the idea that taxiing the FSLabs is "weird". I also use a separate axis just for tiller, and it is highly recommended in the FSLabs, to have no curves in your calibration. So a linear path. This increases realism. Assuming you do have curves of course. Then to give you an insight, since I have 100s of hours of experience in Level D sims, FSLabs is closest to that. Since I know a lot of people will say the Fenix feels better, I will say this: It does, the Fenix does feel better, more responsive. The problem with that though, is that it's not realistic. The real airbus nose wheel has a big delay (to what a simmer is used to) when using the tiller. So if you can get used to the FSLabs tiller behavior, you will have no issues in the Level D and of course the real A320 either.

may I ask if the issue of bottle necking between your cpu and gpu is really bad?

@@dannynguyen7978 No, and according to many different Bottleneck calculators, this is probably one of the best. I think I’m at less than 1% bottleneck. Now if it is actually true, I don’t know. I didn’t have any issues so far. The reason why having a mediocre cpu is good for me, is because I game in 4K, and gaming in 4K requires more GPU power than CPU power, therefore the CPU becomes less relevant. Now that doesn’t mean you can cheap out on the CPU though. Having a good CPU has other benefits. Now if I ever decide to upgrade to a 5090 (when it comes out), I will probably have to upgrade my CPU as well due to the higher performance of the 5090.

I appreciate the request, but I am just curious. The reason I am not too keen on making tutorials, is because there are always real world pilots who also make tutorials on their type rated aircraft, and I would assume that most people would rather watch their tutorials than someone who doesn't fly the real thing. My career may have to do with aircraft, but I would expect people to find real world pilots more credible. What do you think?

@@moeezali8563 I really like making tutorials, and I think the proof is in my style of videos. I tend to like to explain things and what I do, however only on occasion. Because I am not a real world pilot, I don't think many people will agree with me doing a tutorial, and I totally understand. I think the best way to try and get as much info as possible from me is to watch my videos, even the ones of other sims. I once made a video from the FSLabs where I basically didn't cut anything out and showed my entire process. Feel free to check it out, since the procedure can apply to the Fenix as well. What I can also do is make a similar video just with the FENIX. An uncut video where I show everything I do, with a little explanation. It just won't be an official tutorial.

Not sure what all the fuss about FS2Crew was. Here are SOME checklists and here's a bunch of stuff we wrote down. Honestly... just not impressed.
@BProduction22210 ай бұрын
The problem with simulating a virtual first officer, is choosing which airline SOP you want to simulate. A reason why FS2Crew for the B737 NG has three SOPs. Especially regional airlines have many many different interpretations of the AOMs and make their own checklists based off of experience. Boeing, Bombardier and Embraer leave a lot of room for interpretation in their manuals, and allow the airlines to customize a few things. Something a program like FS2Crew can't simulate. A problem I had to face with the CRJ as well and FS2Crew. Very different SOPs from what I was used to, but not incorrect since it simulated a specific American regional airline.

Often, it is about learning the inconsistencies of each program, and then making the best out of the situation. I know for a fact, that certain aircraft don’t have perfect GSX integration, so I tend to only use the things that look nice. For example catering and boarding. Fueling really never works, unless the aircraft developer fully implements GSXs capabilities. Also getting to know the quirks of FS2Crew, will help you understand what kind of things you should avoid when mixing programs. For example if you were using GSX + FS2Crew + self loading cargo + Pushback Express and maybe more. It’s all about trying the limits
