Thanks for a very thorough and understandable review of the case! Have you read "Until You Are Dead" by Julian Sher? It's also a fine book about these events. I found Steven's story by accident once while Googling information on WWII General Lucian Truscott's career, which was extremely hard to find 11 years ago. Asked an elderly Canadian friend how the jury could have apparently been so unskeptical of the limited, hurry-up and slipshod police work. He told me that Canadians are far less skeptical of their government's actions vs US citizens, or at least they were in 1959. It looks to me as if the lead OPP investigator decided he could easily get a conviction on this kid and went for the gold star in the WIN column on his record and spent years later on crowing about it. The RC Air Force base in Clinton was a training base and hundreds of young men were in and out of there on a weekly basis but, the OPP investigative team didn't lift a finger to get information on any of the men who were on the base that week since they already had an unsophisticated and underfunded defendant in the bag.

Louie Mangione was a really good friend of mine. No father in the picture, a very loving mother and sisters. When he was with us (ages maybe 11-14/15), he was safe, all we did was ride around, make fun of each other, meet girls, etc. When his mom was forced to move them away to another suburb of Birmingham, he started hanging out with a different crowd... one that was a lot darker. Saw him 1 night at a party, didn't recognize him, he walked up to me. He looked troubled, I could tell he didn't want to be with the guys he was with, but didn't know what to do. We talked for a little while, exchanged numbers, and I hugged him bye. Just a few months later, he was on the news. It was truly heartbreaking, he was seriously the best, funniest kid.

Lies, a narrative that distorts facts to serve his own agenda, blending truth and falsehoods to mislead the listener, subtly shifting blame and suggesting his innocence, all while seeking exoneration.
@madelayneklein2 ай бұрын
He didn't suggest his innocence at all. In fact he admits more than once what happened was terrible and he deserved to do time for it. Also, a pardon isn't exoneration.
@ubob382 ай бұрын
@@madelaynekleinIn this case, "exoneration" is used to describe the process of seeking forgiveness and clearing oneself of blame, even though it's not a formal or legal situation. A lie of omission can suggest innocence or reduce culpability by presenting an incomplete version of events that minimizes the speaker's involvement in wrongdoing.

Hello madelayneklein. I was in KPH when he was there I was 6 years old. I can tell you while in sunnyside in kingston, he was teaching kids how to kill. I can tell you for a fact why he chose what he did. It is because he was brutally raped by staff in the mental institution at a young age. I know my story is twin to his. I dont kill kids. Wood cocks tragity is from the government. The boys are not imaginary, they were the kids in sunnyside, I know this for a fact I was there at the time he was recruiting. He took a liking for me and protected me from evil staff members. They were afraid of him. Look at the picture careful, cbc is aware of my story for the past 6 years of me remembering my life after being brainwashed by the government of canada. The girl in the picture is Anistia valary Drew a cold case here in Kingston, I am a witness to being murdered, I am a witnessed of the 12 year old in the church of 450 portsmouth. I told the police the same thing giving my report. The truth of my story is now unfolded. The nurses are part of this. They are the ones that tortured us kids. We all were moved to KPH after this video shoot and murdered. I was brainwashed. I am very mad and do want to kill my abusers but I wont, I will be a advocate for the children the strong are of the law to those that hurt us. The killer of Miss Drew was her boyfriend and the pastors son on Portsmouth. This is me in rockwood insane institution this is the jym. This is the story of what to do with the children. This came after the official closing of Rockwood. Who puts a normal 5 year old in there. I'm the boy playing with the dress that felt like a curtin, They were all killed. Raped and tortured kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4OnmIaMq8qhb80si=-Rr9DFx5cokCIX5e This is a video of me in rockwood

A crooked police force, a crooked doctor, a crooked medical examiner (coroner) a crooked trial judge, a crooked appeal court, a crooked supreme court. The real crook got away, and probably repeated the crime, and another victim. Peniston, after being debunked by U.S. coroners, recanted his own evidence. The media played a role by hyping the case. I met Truscott by sheer happenstance, in an elevator, in an apt. near Toronto, when his appeal went in. He was unique in one odd respect, granted that age was a factor, he was not an attractive man, I will go further: he was ugly. What makes an ugly person, or a pretty boy, is a purely a qualitative thing, but there you have it. One thing is certain, he was never guilty. Moreover, the entire show was a sad low comedy of incompetence, butt covering, outright obstructive of justice. The whole story can be found in the Trial records available on the internet. It is much worse than you have described. See also the Guy Paul Moran case-- this shit show still goes on.

I don't know either of them well enough to have an opinion either way, but they were definitely both known as troublemakers back in the day. Makes me sad to think about not only this one, but quite a few other stories like it that have happened in My hometown. Incidentally, it was called the Midtown Motor Inn.

It's time we remember these missing and murdered women from PLAP. Weird that the RCMP have nothing all these years. Maybe we need to call in special investigators from the USA or at least contact a physcic to see what they come up with. Had a close call myself there 20 plus years ago. I have no interest in ever going back. Something is telling me they should look in and around the sand hills. We need to give these poor families some closure and prosecute the ones who are responsible. Amber, Jennifer and Charlene you are not forgotten!

But I don’t want to think that if she is alive the horrible things that could’ve happened to her. I hope she is at least not suffering. Let’s just be clear. This had nothing to do with Canada. When BC and Nova Scotia investigated they found these creeps right away, in fact without BC and NS we wouldn’t know nearly as much. This was a Newfoundland cover up. Nothing to do with the rest of us until we figure out a way to keep an eye on the Newfoundlanders. Similar to the code of silence that many cultures have.. Newfoundlanders have a code of cover up.
