Yeah, the fictional DE1 thing. I was going to get some for the Greenway 220 (Gosport-Fareham-Portsmouth) but because the design is based on a B5LH wheelbase, the evoseti is the only option, and I wanted Wright bodies

The Optare Spectras were all based on the DAF DB250[LF] chassis, and the episode "The End of DAs" was a plot point that no further DAF-based buses would be ordered for National Busways

Yes! CBM uses OSM navigation data which includes ferries/waterways. If you wanted, you could use that to run a coach service that uses a ferry, though here I used them to run my buses from SV on the Island dead to the 111 on the mainland because I Was Stupid™️

I mean an advert for a bus route on a newspaper on said bus isn't really that effective. The low efficacy will be down to the fact that people don't read newspapers that much anymore and won't see the ad in the first place

That's been the plan for a while. I already have a large number of buses I consider to be spares, the 2 red ones at the back of SV, the old Citaros and Scania double deckers at SV, and the 3 Esteems at SW.

There's a template for the e400 that has all the appropriate layers for each variant, all Trident and E40D/H variants as well as the B9TL, so for me all I had to do was hide and show the correct layers to make it look like a Volvo. If I recall there's a link to it in the UK Updated Templates thread in the Modding EN channel of the official CBM discord. It's quite far back so you'll have to use the search function to find it now tho.

I've been thinking about doing a series looking at the founding of National Busways (the mega-corp that runs both of the networks I'm making in their respective areas and series), that'll be set in 1986 so there'll be lots of buses from shortly before those specific buses. I was also contemplating a coastal route for the other series between Ventnor and Alum Bay on the Isle of Wight, which is a potential candidate for that now that open top buses are in a DLC-locked research category.

​@@camjkermanI know it seems like I'm piping up and banging on your conversation but I had the brainwave of an idea for ya whilst reading these and if you were to do a series of the national Busways founding maybe you could do some sort of commentary/animation thing for it? Maybe commentary with footage from city bus manager like "the first bus to be liveried in morse of (subsidiary) leaves the depot" and it could have that bus leave on a shift on CBM??? Idk how well that would work but it's the thought that counts and I won't feel complete if I didn't make this reply so yeah... I lived in Kent for about 10 years and I've been considering exploring the early days of National Busways in CBM, I've settled on their founding as East Kent Busways out of Westwood in Thanet. I'm actually working on a suite of liveries for various buses to represent East Kent Busways experimenting with different bus types and livery designs as they get themselves going.

Cool! Given the mainline service to Southampton is the Rocket, the locals will be the Runners then.

Ultimately, these buses are 20 years old, they've outlasted the vast majority of their type even under other Arriva operations. It's rare for buses to get much beyond 15-18 years in service and these (along with their caretakers at Gillingham garage) have handled their ageing superbly, but there will always come a time to move on.

The 7900Hs are HY63s & the CN94UBs are YN54s.

So, 1; the B5s came from a discord server and I believe they are still to be released publicly, but I was given prior permission to show them on the channel so I assume they are to be released at some point and as soon as they are, I will mention it in the following South Coast video. And 2; I'm studying graphic design. The Morse brand wasn't actually intended to fit a "National Busways" thing, but was meant for a more independent Southern Vectis. I used morse code because of the maritime connection of the local area- the Solent was one of the busiest areas of the world for passenger ships at one point, including the Titanic's route. As for Landore, I wanted an 'older' livery to accompany Morse as the morse scheme looked way too modern to go on something like a Dart from new. It was Landore that birthed the National Busways concept, and it's own inspiration was the airline liveries designed by Landore, notably British Airways' old livery. From there I decided that Morse would fit a more modern National Busways as around the '00s and early '10s the idea of 'national' services in certain sectors became really unattractive, so adapting the Morse scheme originally introduced at South Coast's Solent and Southern Vectis sectors was to be how National Busways localised their branding. Sorry this is so long but I wanted to answer you properly.

@@OTG9.3 Repaint templates are available for most if not all buses in CBM on the official City Bus Manager discord, sometimes you can find links to templates in workshop posts as well. Templates will typically be either .pdn or .psd, .pdn files can be opened natively in Paint.NET, which is free, and has an available plug-in which enables it to open .psd files which would otherwise require Adobe Photoshop. With your template in Paint.NET or Photoshop, you can create your livery, usually there will be a layer called livery or paint me or something along those lines. I'm a graphic designer and make use of a programme called Illustrator to design my liveries, which makes the whole process easier for me, rather than doing everything in Paint.NET or Photoshop. I may do a tutorial video for creating liveries- both conventionally and my way- in the near future. Anyway, once you're happy with your creation, save/export it as a .png file to a memorable place on your system, I have a dedicated folder for all my repaints, further categorised to different sectors like Solent Red and Southern Vectis to make finding the livery I want easier. Then select the import repaint option in the game when buying or repainting a bus, and you'll have your livery in game.

The hire-out fleet will consist of spare regular buses, and coaches only where coaches are also used for regular routes. As for branding they will wear a generic National Busways livery.

Yes! I reckon it will be quite easy to reach Exeter and maybe even further into Devon in this save- my PC's ability to run a save that large notwithstanding- but Devon and Cornwall seem like they'd make for quite an interesting bus network.

I've not heard about those before, I'll have to look into them. That '00s era of buses and some of the ways they tried making buses more environmentally friendly are quite interesting to me. As for my thoughts on American buses, honestly I've never really looked into them. I know ADL have a variant of the Enviro500 that's been proving quite popular in Canada and some parts of the USA, and SEPTA have some Enviro200s which look really out of place, but aside from that I've not given them much thought. I'm half-American myself and want to go to Boston, MA at some point, the Silver Line BRT is interesting.

Unfortunately there aren't any UK bendy buses for City Bus Manager right now. I believe MrChips is working on the bendy Citaro but having loads of problems with it. I have been tempted to try my hand at converting DerNik's Citaros to right hand drive, and that would include the bendy ones.

I actually really like that. A road closure could come up and then the game will have you rework routes and timetables around it until the road reopens
