I will use this to build method to build a low profile pool enclosure for my in-ground pool. Excellent idea. ❤

Great idea and tutorial! I love that it's clear, concise, and stays on task. I don't like watching someone blab for 10 minutes before they don't even show exactly how a project was done. Thank you! That said, I'm trying to think of what I might use in place of Lexan. I can see the winds of a pop-up storm here wrecking it. I'd like to leave it in place most of the time, except for hurricanes. Maybe super-tought Coolaroo fabric, with SS turnbuckles underneath?? 😅

That would be great. I have had others use the thick plastic cutting boards as well. Thank you for your kind words.

This is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for but instead of lexan I was thinking I can use some leftover rigid vinyl plank from a flooring project. It's supposed to be water proof and would look very nice, at least for a while. Thank you for posting thiis!
@GoodCorporateRobot2 жыл бұрын
I completed the frame in about 3 hours today. The top took longer because I had to wait for the glue to dry on the rigid vinyl plank. I went with Velcro as well, thinking I can remove the top in bad weather. Don’t know how the rvp will hold up but it’s easily replaced. Overall it is excellent. It will work perfectly. Lessons learned: I didn’t really account for the weight of the rvp so the shelf was set at level without the top and it moved a bit when I set the top on it. Not much tho. Still looks great! I’m hoping it serves me well for years to come. Thanks very much for posting this excellent idea.

Also, I got lucky with the length of the brace arms. I didn’t measure and just went with the 10” in the video. Luckily it was perfect.

Nice job. Can you explain how you connected the pvc to the pump and the sand filter. I paused the video but couldn't quite tell the components used. Thanks.
@JDee72 жыл бұрын
The connection to the pump was a male threaded to a female slip. (1:27) Then I connected a union female both sides connector that unscrews for easy disassemble if needed. Very similar setup to the filter unit. Union female both ends to the male threaded to female slip connector to the filter unit. (1:38) Hope this helps.

I built a pool noodle holder out of PVC…just a rectangular cube. I spray painted it to match my patio furniture. I’m going to do that when I build this and add the top last. Great tutorial! Well done.

Great video and great idea with the fountains. I have the Intex 16 X 32 Ultra XTR I put up last year. I have a 20 foot deck along side of it which would be great for mount the sprayers. I really like the idea of the side skimmer. Would it be possible to mount the skimmer then cut the liner? Seems that would reduce the risk of mis-cutting the liner.
@JDee73 жыл бұрын
That is exactly how I did it. Push the screws through and secure with the gaskets, then cut liner as close as you can to the edge of the skimmer so no debris gets caught on the way in.

Will this work on AGP's that have legs that are angled and not straight up/down? My AGP is a rectangle shape, not round.
@JDee73 жыл бұрын
With a little modification I don't see why not. I have not tried on that style yet. They don't seem to angle out too far so it may work as is.

I used a couple of T's instead of an elbow at one of the back-top corners - and made an umbrella holder. Reamed the outer T with a hole saw and a standard beach umbrella fits perfectly.
Love this idea-- made it quick and easy! Thanks for posting this!

I know this is an old video, but I have a question about the pump. Does the ground screw on top of the pump not need to be grounded to anything? I just bought a pump to replace mine & trying to figure out what I need to do as the instructions say it's a safety hazard not to bond the pool to the pump.
@JDee73 жыл бұрын
Mine is not separately grounded other than the plug into the GFCI I installed next to it. I haven't had any issues. It wouldn't be a bad idea to ground it separate. Check with your local codes and electrician for any assistance on that.

Hello so you have the one skimmer inlet and then you have two eyeball outlets? My old pool I closed off two outlets kept one outlet and did a skimmer on the new pool I have I’m not sure what to do something like yours I think so I’m just trying to understand I would do the one normal outlet with the eyeball the skimmer for the inlet and then the other two open holes I could make two more outlets? Or close one off or use one of the three for a fountain correct?
@JDee73 жыл бұрын
I believe I understand your question. I have one return (the eyeball) and one inlet which is the skimmer. I have a valve that runs between the return from the pump to the pool that splits from the return (eyeball) in the pool and the fountain. This way you can regulate how much water comes out of the fountain by adjusting the opening of the valve. You can keep the two returns as long as you have one of them for the fountain as well. For more pressure to the valve shut off bot returns (eyballs) and only let the fountain go. I hope this helps.
