Thanks a lot for this...been up all night looking for a solution and finally found this video. Giving the phone to a relative of mine because I got the Galaxy S4 now and iTunes was not connecting so I couldn't restore it through there. When you do the upgrade to ios7(or any ios upgrade) you are replacing the firmware on the phone with the new version. Any factory reset puts the phone into default settings of the firmware installed on the phone.

I'm locked out of my iCloud and can't unlock it as my mum doesn't use that apple ID email anymore and she can't remember the password would resetting the phone let me put in my own new appleid and iCloud account it would I still be locked out and would that be the right thing to do as otherwise I'm stuck and my phone keeps popping up Apple ID verification messages every 10-15 seconds also would it erase all pictures?
