If you don’t want to use that thick of yarn, how many should you chain for your blanket?
@I-crochet
@I-crochet 6 күн бұрын
@@patanderson7136 I’m sorry, I haven’t tried it with a lighter weight yarn. Make one chain about an inch longer than the blanket, weave it through and it should lay flat with just the tail ends hanging over a little. I just had to keep trying until I got it right and then I made all the other chains the same length. Good luck!! What colors are you using?

I’ve actually started this blanket; have received the white and am waiting on my other two colors. So, while waiting, I thought I’d do the required number of white chains but I cannot locate anywhere in the transcript where you mention the number of chains needed for the completed blanket. Is there a recommended number of chains? Or did you just make the first chain to fit the need once the filet portion was complete and then count the number and replicate that for the balance of the chains needed? (Gosh, I hope my question makes sense-it’s a bit convoluted).

Ah, I just remembered you gave the dimensions of the completed blanket so I can use that as my guide…I do like a definite # of chains, though; so if you have a number to share that would be awesome. Thank you for sharing this pattern-am so excited to get one made for each of my sons for Christmas!

I've been trying to find the right pattern.That would suit her, and when I saw this, I thought I would try making this one with reds. I'm pretty good with constructing various colors, but this red has to be just the right kind for her (she's picky!). What 2 or 3 colors would you suggest to bring out the plaid using red, orange, white, beige, etc.? Or, anyone else may suggest. thanks in advance. ❤🌷🌻🪻

@@gailadams7690 I’ve only used red as a Christmas blanket, which I made with Bernat Blanket Extra Jumbo yarn. It’s so cushy! It’s under my videos if you click on my pink logo. They have the same colors in 6 weight Bernat Blanket. If I were going to make it, I would use a creamy white, like a vintage white in the Bernat Blanket yarn. They have a crimson red that is bright red. I would use a dark gray or black for the 3rd color to really make the red pop. I use a simple sketch pad app and just use the markers in different colors when I’m trying to figure out a good combo. Let me know what you decide!

I'm seeing many clad type blankets different styles, but this one is unique. I love it. ❤️ You are very good instructor and slow in detail in your explanations, which is very good. I made one blanket that was designed for the military branches. You use 3 or 4 colors. There was a lot a lot of lattice chaining and weaving and continue with the construction and so on. It was a bear to make in five months, because I made it more like a blanket type for my brother who is large tall tall. I said I will never make another one like that, and it wore me out LOL, but I love doing that for my brother who served his 20 yrs in the Army and was medically retired at a 100%, because he was injured twice in Afghanistan, but he is good and okay.
