Way back in 1986 I made a baby blanket like this. I used white, pink, blue, green, and yellow. It turned out so cute. To keep baby from pulling out a long braid and possibly wrapping it around the neck, I sewed it down with the sewing machine. Yours is so pretty! ❤

Yes, just make the initial chain longer to make it as wide as you like. I used a multiple of 5 plus one more chain at the end to have those blocks of 5 woven chains work out. You can make the blocks any number you like, even some bigger than others, but I wanted this plaid/gingham look…and I’m not that great at math😊

I made one blanket that was designed for the military branches. You use 3 or 4 colors. There was a lot a lot of lattice chaining and weaving and continue with the construction and so on. It was a bear to make in five months, because I made it more like a blanket type for my brother who is large tall tall. I said I will never make another one like that, and it wore me out LOL, but I love doing that for my brother who served his 20 yrs in the Army and was medically retired at a 100%, because he was injured twice in Afghanistan, but he is good and okay.

So, while waiting, I thought I’d do the required number of white chains but I cannot locate anywhere in the transcript where you mention the number of chains needed for the completed blanket. Is there a recommended number of chains? Or did you just make the first chain to fit the need once the filet portion was complete and then count the number and replicate that for the balance of the chains needed? (Gosh, I hope my question makes sense-it’s a bit convoluted).
