Fun episode guys! I think Cal’s perspective is definitely not a bad one. The gods dying and the whole energy cannot be created nor destroyed goes along with something I’ve been thinking about for a while. If the gods need the humans for the power that comes from their worship then it almost makes sense that if there is not a vessel it creates a vacuum. This vacuum draws in someone that exemplifies the thoughts and feelings the mortals have towards creation, destruction, nature or what have you and the worship powers the person that was drawing near to that power or energy. Who knows though. I could see Callen or Alondros doing a Loki season 2 ending this season for sure. I feel like Vasalis would make the sacrifice too because he doesn’t have a lot of attachments in the mortal world now. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

Does Zane have a happy backstoried character? Or even an idea for a happy backstory? I think Theseus would literally insta kill Vaselis if they tell him and no matter what I don’t think it would make a difference in Theseus’s further choices. I’ve always wondered how long Zane knew about Vaselis’s backstory! Thanks for asking and answering that question! I do think that lots of the gods, if not all except for Krufix and maybe Klothis, have had different versions of themselves come before now through the passing on of mantles. Because it’s so true that the gods don’t seem TOO terribly concerned that they’re being killed off. Jefferson really reaaaally loved the whole time difference thing…they caught onto him. I think Calen’s visions are so focused on Theseus because that’s their whole goal of what they’re doing. They’re trying to stop Theseus. So Calen’s visions are like “updating” him on what Theseus is doing. Man that ending that they talked about how Alondros is like the last one, holy crap that would be insane! I agree with Zane that if anyone doesn’t make it out of the underworld Alondros is the most likely. But I actually think they’re all going to make it out. I think Erebos believes so much that no matter what he will have the heroes in his realm when they die that he will kind of just let them leave. I don’t know if he’ll let them take Adelphos very easy so they might have to make the deal around him in order to get him out, but I really think that he’ll just let them leave. Because they’ll die eventually and be under his power, or so he thinks? If they become gods then they won’t be under his power and he’d probably hate them forever. As far as after that I have no idea what could happen 😬

To be fair though, how many of us actually come up with characters WITHOUT tragic backstories? And Killian's backstory is less tragic than the rest...

I’m going to guess Signs for that movie reference. Been a hot minute since I’ve seen it though. I loved the moment that Alandros got with his father very touching. It was sad that Vasalis couldn’t get a moment like that with Sophia. Truly sad that she is a shell of a person. That thing that came out of the wheat field was basically an alien anyway so I think the party was right 😂 Vasalis’s first thought to burn the thing was awesome 😂 Bold of Tyson to assume that we actually play D&D. I blame my program for not playing as much anymore, but I digress. I would prefer to play in person!
@PG-DND10 күн бұрын
Such a great movie! I would recommend checking it out again! I agree. It was sad to not have Vasilis get a moment to talk to her, when Alandros got one. However, @madisonalford5704 had a great theory about that that is now my head cannon! Ya, really! It was terrifying! Haha I mean fire was the only thing that worked in The Thing, so it was bound to work on that crazy thing too! Haha Haha sorry to assume! But hopefully you are able to play again soon! Until them I hope that at the very least watching us play can help get you through until you can play again!!

So now I’m wondering if Sophia wanted to forget her life and that’s why she didn’t really snap out of the fog. Where Alondros’s dad wanted to remember his life so once he was snapped out it it came back to him. Signs! What a good movie 😂 I also feel like a discus would hurt way more then a wooden bat. Jefferson saying “yeah that’s tough” to Tyson and then immediately moving on was so funny 😂 That thing is nightmare fuel for reals! I think that might be the scariest thing they ever fought so far, which is wild, but it was super creepy and holy crap the damage it would do! Alondros with the disintegration was SO COOL!!! Especially since I feel like both the gods he has, obviously the Hephaestus one (can’t remember his name 😅), but even Affara, are both like creation and life and so it was so cool seeing him wield the power of the exact opposite. Man those time flashes are crazy. And the fact that Theseus can see Calen is kinda wild. Like can other people see Calen too or is it just Theseus? And I totally think Theseus is heading out for Nilea dang it.
@PG-DND10 күн бұрын
Ooooh! That is a good thought! I love that! That would actually make a lot of sense why she didn't snap out of it. That is now my head cannon! You got it! What a great movie! haha I agree though. A discus would hurt so much! It really has been the scariest thing we have fought so far! What a great monster! Ya, what a cool finishing move from someone who normally doesn't do that type of stuff! It was cool to see how Alondros's magic is being effected by his new deity influence. That was a really cool way to utilize flashes in D&D in a cool and effective way! Ya, Theseus being able to see Calen almost makes me wonder if Theseus has some sort of control over the visions. Or at least some kind of manipulation over them. That would be crazy!
@madisonalford57049 күн бұрын
@ Oh I didn’t even think about Theseus potentially having influence or control over the visions. That would be insane!

Fantastic episode guys! Another god dead... Here we go again! This is such a wild campaign. My bet is on this goddess going to Vasilis, as Thalassa is so strongly tied to Thassa, and I don't know how the two would interfere. That said, with Thassa being neutral, she may specifically want Thalassa to make that space, much in the same way crufix did. Tyson's theory on Calan's ability is really interesting. If it's right, does that mean that Calan could potentially view what Theseos's plans are? Though with Theseos being able to somehow see Calan when he does view these things, he may have planned for that. I wonder if Calan can fully interact with The world when he is viewing it that way. That Theseos said about the timeline for Calan's beliefs changing is so interesting! And Calan's final bit about Theseos still being his friend was so sweet. I think after talking with Baxor, he realizes how much he has to lose if he lets Theseos go. I might be wrong though. Anyway, thanks for a great episode! ❤

Crazy stuff! Those are actually some great points! I am interested to see how all of that 'god essence' stuff works, moving forward. All of the gods that passed away in the past did it right in front of our party members they gave their essence to. I am interested to see how it goes with Nylea. Maybe she will visit in a vision or something? I don't know. I am also interested to learn more about how Calen's visions work. I think that is a great point! Maybe he can look into the future and see what he is planning on doing. Maybe that will be something we bring up again in the future. Unless Theseos somehow is able to have some sort of influence on when Calen sees him...that would be crazy! Either way, I think it might be worth a shot! Thanks for the great ideas!!

Haha! The first retcon! 😂 I’m happy that the gang thought that the comment with Vasalis was funny. Sofia was so sad. She was so vibrant and full of life. It’s sad that she became uninspired after everything with Theseus went down. Super sad end to that story. Sofia made me think she would go to Illysia because she died in child birth like a warrior. That was so sad to see Alondros’s dad! I wasn’t expecting that. Phylius… idk this is FINE-lius?
@PG-DND10 күн бұрын

@madisonalford570421 күн бұрын
When Shay said she was nervous about getting stuck in something I immediately was like, “yep…that will happen now. They’re gonna get stuck in the endless cycle.” I KNEW Sophia would be there! I wanted to be wrong so bad because she deserves better, but I freakin knew it. I’m glad Vasilis got to say what he wanted to to Sophia, but so sad. Dude…I swear if Erebus destroyed the wall 😤 But it could be like what Zane said that the wall became uninspired. Or dang the theory Connor had with the creatures being released is a wild thought! I should’ve known though that it was part of the endless cycle of this horrible place. 25% chance of hitting the good one…was he talking about the mires of misery? Because he didn’t seem too keen on ilyseum 😂 Dang it! That’s so sad Alondros’s father is there too! And that’s interesting there isn’t many Satyrs there, but of course his dad is there ☹️ I agree I would much rather be in Narino because so far all the other options are horrendous!
@PG-DND10 күн бұрын
Wow, you nailed that! I didn't even have that thought until we say the long lines. What a sad way to spend eternity though. That's so sad Sophia was there, and Alondros's father too! I personally think both of them deserved a better ending. It was so sad to see them there. Hopefully we don't run into anyone else in Phylias. Ya I'm not sure what he meant, but I have this crazy feeling that even Ilyseum is going to have some crazy miserable twist. So far the Underworld does not seem like a place I would like to go to. Big shocker!
@penguinlove942821 күн бұрын
This place is so depressing! Seeing Sofia almost had me in tears! And just leaving us on Alandros's father! This whole underworld thing is heartbreaking! When you first came down, I was thinking "they'll go down, fight a few guardians, find Adelphos, and come back." Instead, we are meeting every dead NPC we had any attachment to, and some we didn't but have come to love anyway. Multiple Gods are dead, their spirits seem to be residing in our heroes, and they have a bargain with another god to deal with. This blows my mind more and more every episode. You guys are awesome. Thanks for another amazing episode ❤

I'm still relatively early in my first campaign, and we started at level one, so I am just about to hit level 4, and haven't yet found any magic items. Jeff as a player is chaotic and unhinged! If I don’t know what it is… I do it anyway! I love the not meta-ness of it though. Hats off to you Jefferson. Sonorus I want to say technically only amplifies the caster’s voice at least that’s what we’ve seen in The Goblet of Fire from Ludo Bagman. I did a little bit of reading and it looks like the time turner can take someone back in time up to 5 hours at a time, one hour per turn. I dislike the Harry Potter time travel because it makes a loop like effect. The time travel could potentially make three branches. Branch one there is a time line where the time travelers don’t exist anymore. Branch two the branch you are creating by changing things. Branch three if anyone else were to interfere or if one thing doesn’t go according to plan you make a whole new time line especially with the four or five different ones that the party created.

Or maybe when they sneak into BBEG's, you let them wander around they find a room filled with stuffy thats eluding to this ancient evil being locked away.

I've had this idea ready for a while. It allows you to use a lot of tropes in a new way. He leaves the party alive each time because he's not out to kill them, just stop them from interfering. Plot twist. The party is from a single region who absolutely hate the BBEG, but he is "beloved" everywhere else. Being that the only thing they have ever been around, they hear the stories of how BBEG destroyed their kingdom and essentially oppressed them. However their region was ruled by a tyrant who was originally bent on taking over the continent and was defeated by BBEG. Their region is oppressed because of the regime being stuck on fighting a "war" that has long since ended, but dont have the resources to expand beyond their territory. So BBEG essentially leaves the region alone so long as it doesnt cause anymore trouble. Party goes on to defeat BBEG, while along the way getting a misinformed idea that BBEG has somehow brainwashed an entire continent to be content with his rule. The party thinks it is their duty to kill BBEG and save everyone from his mind control. When they succeed, they find out he wasnt mind controlling anyone and was a hero to everyone, and the party becomes the new BBEG.

Mistborn!!! Adapting it for home session, I would have players watch as something (orb of light, mist, etc.) flies out of the body and away. This is some sort of evil symbiote or parasite-like being, and the bbeg had managed to bargain with it/otherwise restrict it's abilities by following this path of destruction, or something similar. The solution may involve the need for balance between existence of good and evil, splitting up the inhabitation between multiple hosts, or whatever wacky thing players come up with.

Ahhh! Definitely been waiting for a moment for Calan and Thalassa! That was so perfectly awkward and sweet. And Alandros's "I'm happy you are excited." Was hilarious! The soap! A shopping trip is in order as soon as they get back to the mortal realm. Oh my gosh. Theseus really is killing the other gods! That is insane. I am so curious about how Adelphos will respond to this. Also, how does Theseus get to them? It seems like the gods would reside on their own plane, not necessarily accessible to mortals, but maybe there are entrances like there are for the underworld. Alandros has a god spirit too!? I know! It took almost 2 seasons, but was worth it! Such a sweet moment! Yes for sure! Alandros needs more soap! Ya, that is crazy! I am scared to see who is on his list next. I think that the gods probably have a place that they usually reside, but often go down to the mortal world. I think some gods spend more time on the mortal plane than others, like Purphorus, I'm pretty sure his workshop (the mountain) was a permanent place on the mortal world. But I don't think all the gods are like that. We will just have to see what all comes next though. You are asking the right questions though! We may have to bring that up in character and see what becomes cannon. Ya, it's crazy! Pretty soon we all are going to have multiple god spirits too! Unless we can stop Theseus quickly. Haha! That was so well put! Haha! I think that is also perfectly said that: "Calen is the representative of the god of what is and the god of what could be" That is awesome!

The party is safe they only roll 6 on the dice.
@penguinlove9428Ай бұрын
Yeah... My dice hate me tying knots. Every time that I try, I roll like a 2 or 3. That said, I found a solution. My wonderful DM will let me use mending to fuse two ends of a rope together. No more knots!

We bestow a blessing upon your dice 🙏may they abundantly roll natural 20’s for you

That is actually super smart! I am totally going to use that!

Literally! The dice never cooperate 😂

I wonder if Krufix is “pulling away” from Calen to basically give Klothis room as she is using Calen as her vessel and Krufix doesn’t want to intervene with that transfer of power or something. Vasilis taking watch as the last stage of “oh look a strawberry” 😂 Anyone related to Apalonia is probably just awful 😂 because Apalonia is the WORST! But maybe Agatha was taken by a god? I was suspicious that Vasilis was initially the one that went down to the den of Mogis, but I couldn’t make it make sense so I dismissed it! I should’ve stuck with my first thought! I mean…he changed his mind 1:48:41 Shay putting her hood up and then freakin Connor “putting his hood up” 😂 But legitimately the two dads are literally horrible. Why does Vasilis’s dad hate Theseus so much? And why does Proteus go along with it? I feel so sad for Vasilis because he made a mistake and then someone he trusted used it to hurt his friend. Vasilis didn’t do a practically irreversible wrong, the two dads did!

That is an interesting thought! I think if any god was going to give up their hold to save another it would be Krufix. You totally called it though! I knew there was something going on, but never guessed that it was actually Vasilis who set everything up like that. It really adds another layer to the sadness of Theseus's story. The dads are totally the ones in the wrong though!

In episode 48 of season one Alandros bails Thelossa, Calan, and Theseus out of jail. 500, 500, and 2000 gold! Cal ended up paying Alandros back for most of the bill. Calan also bought super rare flowers for a the prom-like ask out to the ball before the games. So it makes sense that cal is broke and Alandros has a lot of money. The mind things!!! Zane can’t get away from the losing the memory things. 3/3 sons of Akros have daddy issues. Interesting statistic. We found one thing that Alandros can’t do! Wild! I was very impressed with the amount of restraint and forgiveness the party gave Vasalis especially after one of them was attacked. They grow up so quickly. I felt so bad for Jeff with the mic cutting out! That must have been frustrating! I hope it works out ok next episode and everything can go smoothly!

Oh ya! That is totally what it was! I remembered that there was something like that that went down, but couldn't remember what exactly it was. Thanks for always having our back and for being a part of out Continuity Team here in the comments! I know! Zane finally has a character that will share personal information about his backstory and then conveniently hides it behind an Alter Memory spell. That is just a little too suspicious Haha! I guess Alandros can't be perfect Haha! It is really cool to see their growth. They have had to learn a lot in their travels. Technology is the worst. We will figure it out and get things working smoothly again.

The way Jefferson says, “you’re about to have a long rest.” Made me instantly think he was going to sabotage their long rest…and then what do you know! The underworld has not been kind, especially to Vasilis. The inverse of 3 minutes of playtime. Straight up Proteus and Vasilis’s dad used Vasilis as a puppet and then made him forget because Vasilis didn’t want to do what they made him do. And maybe Proteus didn’t know Vasilis didn’t do it of his own free will and doesn’t know his memory has been blocked. They need to talk to Proteus and get the entire run down of what actually happened. Wait what?! Was that like Klothis’s body that fell from the sky? What the heck?! I’m dying for next week!!!
@PG-DNDАй бұрын
Haha you just know that Jefferson can't let a peaceful moment go uninterrupted Haha! That is so true! I guess we now know how effective 3 Minutes of Playtime will be. For reals though! I am so interested to find out what all is locked behind the spell in his mind! I have no idea! I can't wait to find out as well!

Been a minute since I’ve been able to make a comment, but I just wanted to say that as an unofficial continuity team member go rewatch the episode where the party first makes it to Aganos and there will be some answers for you. In the future though I will take bribes from the DM and party to gaslight on what happened during the episodes. One of my favorite moments was when Proteus was like ah yes I love both my sons equally Adelphos and *squints at smudged ink on hand* Titus… Good few episodes I do plan on going back and commenting! I love all the laughs and how much fun you guys have as friends. It was refreshing to get one of Zane’s characters to spill some back story! Keep that man talking! I love the Ner’Know! I was dead. Alondros never taking a hit, but almost running out of spell slots is so real with casters though! So funny 😂

Welcome back! It's been lonely without you! You can now officially be a part of the Official Continuity Team. Although, I may take you up on that offer one of these days haha! Haha that was so great! haha It doesn't matter how long we play these characters we will always mess them up here and there Haha But that is such a great way to see that go down! That is now cannon as far as I am concerned. I know! It's so great to finally have one of Zane's characters share their backstory with us! Haha But it is so true! At higher levels with spell casters, it is not so much what their HP is at, it's how many Spell Slots they have left. haha!

Answers! Finally! I feel like I should have guessed that vasilis's memory had been tampered with after his interaction with Proteus, but what a cool twist! Also... More symbol stuff! Man, what an episode! Thanks guys!❤
@PG-DNDАй бұрын
I totally didn't see the memory tampering thing though! But it makes total sense. I am also super excited to see where all the symbol stuff goes! Where do you think all that is going to go? So glad you enjoyed the episode!
