If you calculated the sensor area divided by setup (body+lens) volume, it would probably be unbeatable. Certainly would be interesting to compare it to the Leica Q2/Q3

Great video. I bought my X-T1 second hand from a friend about 7 years ago and despite acquiring other Fujifilm cameras since then, it is still my workhorse, go-to camera for so many subjects and applications. I usually have it paired with my 35mm f2 and it can handle about 90% of what I want to shoot. Great camera!

I've just bought the X100T as my first ever camera trying to start a new hobby. These holiday photos are utterly beautiful and exactly the style of vibrancy and cinematic that I hope to replicate. Do you have any advice for a first time user in terms of camera settings or post processing? Really appreciate any advice!

Nice little lens, but very soft corners.

Yeah. You can see how much more superior the overall image quality is on the 1.4 when compared with the 2.8. Very much depends on what you plan to shoot and your needs though. The 2.8 has produced some steller images for me all while being unobtrusively small and lightweight (and weather sealed). Not to mention cheaper. I think the hype around the 1.4 is very much warranted though. It's incredible.

Just bought one used and it has a problem with command dials - rear not working at all when turning and front working randomly every other time. Heard that cleaning spray for electronics can help, but wondering if anyone here had the same problem and managed to repair it?

Just watched your video on the fuji x-t20 with the 15-45 lens, I have been using the same for about the last 4/5 years. I have not experienced the lag with the lens that you encountered, but it is an amazing camera for the price. I spend a lot of time outdoors and have no issues with durability. Like it so much I' added the fuji 50-140 and a 7artisans 35mm. I take this with me everywhere, it is so light. Save my canon ff cameras for the "bigger" hikes. Great shots!!! Cheers!!

No one mentions that you can use the focus ring to zoom? Much more intuitive, just turn off AF+MF in the options

Love the 2.8 beach shots! The yellow skirt pops so well! Agreed, I used to own the 1.4 (with the xT4) and while sharp, the weight deterred me from taking it out a lot. I’ve got an xt30ii that I’m planning on pairing with the 2.8 based on your review. Thanks for the thorough review!

I got mine when it first came out and still use it today. I sold Nikon D700 and all its lenses when I saw the quality and freedom from sensor noise. No regrets.

Not an expert but owner of an xt1 since 2014. The dynamic range, the braketing options are not good enought today. this is a big joke to promote it today for this kind of use.
@KentuckyMan302 ай бұрын
Yeah, the bracketing options are subpar. My old X-T2 was way better in that regard. However, for those who don't bracket, but use a flash/ambient blend technique (as I do), bracketing features are irrelevant. Dynamic range is more than adequate with this sensor, especially with RE work and especially at base ISO. I shot RE for years on the X-T2 and genuinely can't tell a difference between the two when it comes to the final result or when editing and working with the files. The technique I use doesn't involve pushing the DR far. That's the beauty of the ambient/flash blend. There's nothing about the final result that isn't adequate for today, especially for RE work. Now, the X-T1 wouldn't be my first choice for RE work by a long shot, but that only has to do with a lack of features that makes the shooting experience easier/better. If I were to get back in to RE shooting full time, I'd go out and buy something newer. Something that has 2 card slots and a screen that tilts vertically as well as horizontally. I say as much in the video though.

What about the 16mm f2.8 + x-t50 combo? Will they be a pain in the 4ss for some night shots with high ISO and body stabilization? I love the form factor of the f2.8 but I want to be able to take shots at night as well. Also, what about the legendary 18mm? Is it comparable in any scenario?

Although this video is 4 years old, the 16mm f1.4 is in fact longer, almost 18mm f1.4 (hence why Fujifilm never replaced this lens but instead launched the 18mmf1.4) Personally the 16mm f2.8 is a much better option as it gives you 90% of the f1.4 performance and is almost like a pancake lens!

Man your xt1 looks in better condition than my xt5. I wish Fujifilm had kept the same built quality on newer models despite being slightly heavier

I agree. I bought mine in 2019 i think $350 range. I love it. The members of the photography club buy the latest cameras. I juts cant justify the purchse since the images it produces are so good. X100Ts and X-E2 prices are way out there now. I'd love to buy one as a EDC but the price is just nuts. Glad you're still posting videos.

Thanks! I shoot raw and edit in LR. Most of what I do is to use the Classic Chrome preset in LR as a starting point then edit from there (boosting vibrancy, adjusting contrast, highlights, local adjustments, etc). I think there were quite a few in this video that I did the same editing process but with a Classic Neg. profile.
