Did you put after-market radius arms in your ute to make the 35s fit, or was that a different ute?

All the US trucks in Australia seems to go with a GVM upgrade. Is there a reason that Australians aren't just buying he next larger spec truck? Even a 350/3500 DRW would give you 6,350 kg from the the factory. All 3 manufacturers make trucks up to class 5 (550/5500) and Ford makes class 6 and 7 chassis cabs on their larger truck chassis. My F450 was only about $3,500 more than a comparably equipped F350 SRW. Also a heads up to Ford Super Duty buyers in Australia. Ford recently (some time in 23/24) changed their front axle from the Dana Super 60 (M256) to a smaller (9.25" ring gear) Dana 50 (M235) on every Super Duty below the 450. The biggest issue with the M235 is not that it isn't strong, but that it lacks aftermarket support. At this time I don't believe that there is a selectable locker for the M235. Ram runs a 9.25" ring gear AAM front axle with no issues, but it is based on the GM Corporate 14 bolt 9.25/9.5 that has been around a long time and has a lot of aftermarket support.

Thanks for the comments mate! I've got to admit, I'm not completely up to speed with the modification/GVM laws for the American trucks in Australia. Very jealous though of how you guys can mod your trucks, way better than in Australia!

@@MudModsBeers Most states are pretty accommodating here. Usually you hit a headlight or bumper height restriction at some point. My last truck was a 2011 Ram 2500 with an 8" lift on 37x1350x18 Interco M16s. My rear bumper height was 2" under the 32" maximum for HD trucks in Maryland and I considered moving to 40s. Unfortunately it started rusting and since I needed more towing capacity anyway, I went with the big Ford.

Hey mate, it can stop anywhere on the way up with a tap on the switch, it's a bit tricky to stop it though, it mostly wants to go back down again. Bit fiddly to get it to stop!

Those terminal bars look great. If you ever decide to pull the winch out to give it a service or whatever, Toyota have a spacer that would go between the front of the bull bar and the hawse fairlead. Part no is PZQ936003B. The cavity the hawse fairlead goes in was designed for the steel cable with the rollers which stick out a fair bit more than the hawse fairlead hence they created the spacer so less chance of rubbing the winch rope on the side of that cavity when winching off to the side.

Hey mate is this a 2inch lift on 35s? Also what offset wheels are you running front and rear and do you scrub? I believe I have seen your previous vids where you fitted black hawk arms which help move tyres away from rear of guard? Thank you very much great vid too btw love your work. 👌 Cheers Jack.
@MudModsBeers
@MudModsBeers 10 күн бұрын
Hey Jack, Thanks for watching mate! Yes 2” on 35’s, there was a fair bit of scrubbing before the new radius arms. They helped lots and really only scrubs now on full lock or when the suspension is fully compressed. In saying that I’m really considering going back to 33’s, zero scrubbing, better fuel economy and better acceleration too. I’m running neg 50 offsets in the rear and neg 12 on the fronts. Hope that helps and good luck with yours! Thanks for the comment too! Cheers Richo

Hey mate, how did the rest of the build go? How did you go about screwing the drawers/fridge to the floor?
@MudModsBeers
@MudModsBeers Ай бұрын
Hi Mate, Thanks for the question. Yes got the rest of the build done, one of the episodes is here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZnblYdpZsiEnaM The beauty of using a timber floor is you can screw into it anywhere you like and if you change your mind later on down the track it's easy to move things around, which I have done a fair bit of lately. This is my third canopy done this way, and this one is still going strong after 12 months of use. Good luck with yours! Cheers Richo

I’m curious if your thought on the arb trash bag? Amazon reviews are not very favorable.
@MudModsBeers
@MudModsBeers Ай бұрын
Hi Amanda, Thanks for your question. We've had this bag for about 2 years now, hasn't missed a beat really as far a quality goes. There are a few pros and cons from using though. Pros: Sturdy Side pockets are a decent size Looks good in my opinion Good size Cons: Really hard to fit on my canopy spare wheel, lots of straps that go everywhere. To be fair doesn't move much when fitted The top is a bit of a pain to get into as you have to roll it up each time, and if you've been driving on dusty roads, when you unroll to open it up the dust can go everywhere. THe sections inside for rubbish and recycle are good, it's just hard to keep the two bags up at the top as there is not latching mechanism for them. Hope that helps? Richo

Deutsch connectors are much better, it why they are heavily used in automotive industry and they are also much cheaper and easier to use... Most appliances are under 10amp (especially when Rogue is only 10amp), so Anderson plugs are overkill
