The thing with swags is your bedding is all in one. you keep sheets pillows etc. so you roll it out and it is ready to sleep. Even if you don't use the poles (old fashion versions) still ready for sleep. This system is all huff and puff pumping up everything and the way it packs up is not inducive of leaving bedding in.

Great video and humour. Love the handy tips. I definitely can’t wait to have a canopy instead of doing tub life. It will save me taking heaps of shit.

Thanks mate! I had a tub a while ago on a Hilux, they’re handy for plenty of things but for camping I think there’s not much that can beat a canopy. Thanks for the comment 👍🍺

@MudModsBeersКүн бұрын
This was awhile ago, but from memory, I used bits of angle and screwed them to the floors and then the slides onto them. Hope that helps mate! Good luck with your build 👍🍺

Hey mate, thanks for the comments! The rear wheels have a -50 offset rim on each side. This helps correct the track.

@@MudModsBeers Thank you so much for your prompt response! awesome! I want to have similar wheel setup for my 76. Sorry what type of wheels they area? How about front (i mean offset)?
@MudModsBeers8 күн бұрын
@@egi5434 They are steel wheels and from memory I think the fronts are -12 offset, or maybe 0 offset. Any good wheel & tyre shop will be able to help you out wth the offsets to ensure they line up correctly.

100% true, we made a couple of big rookie mistakes! We only walked half of it, presumed the other half was ok, and didn't rig up a snatch first for a quick exit. We have driven that same track lots of times with no issues, albeit with not quite as much water, just goes to show you can't ever take anything for granted, or take anything too lightly. Lesson learned, and yes, very lucky! Thanks mate!

Well presented. Great work guys. Happy travels now 5 months on the road!! Only point of contention I have after watching is maybe I would prefer to have the windows clear without obstruction/molle panel/canvas pockets/ Just to keep some more 'lively light' in the interior. Thanks heaps for sharing. Cheers
@MudModsBeersАй бұрын
Awesome!! Thanks so much for the feedback mate, really appreciate it. Brando is actually back at the minute, must ask him how he likes or dislikes the molle panels. I do know he's got a lot of odds and ends stored on them. Good luck with the travels, so jealous!!!

Thanks for the video im also stealing the idea, did you use the 2mm tube or the 1mm ?
@MudModsBeersАй бұрын
thanks mate! I'm not sure what size the tube was, absolutely wasn't 1mm, might have been 2mm or maybe even 3mm for greater strength. I'd recommend getting the thickest you can, being alloy its not that heavy anyway.

Correcting the track on a 70 series is a waste of time. Here's 2 reasons why : a) No commercial, govt or industry users complain about the track being different. I drive one every day and I'm on a cattle station in SW Qld. I have not noticed any problem. b) Going around a corner the back never tracks the same anyway. Or is this vehicle only being driven in a straight line ? I'd love to know your thoughts and also just who is it who is having problems with the wheel track being different from front to back.
@MudModsBeersАй бұрын
Hey mate, Thanks for the comments, I can't speak for Brando as it's his truck, however from my experience the track correction is most noticeable in sand, without it I used to had the rear fall into ruts that the fronts didn't fall into, it was noticeably more skittish. Each to their own though, I can see in a lot of cases there is no need. There will be people do it purely for aesthetic reasons too.
