Is the impedance measured here including the input bypass caps? It is not clear if they were removed so they don't influence the input resistance measurement.

Thank you for the precision, but now I'm a bit confused between Bsat and Bmax. Aren't they the same, where it represent the maximum saturation level that core can handle?

Excuse me, may i ask what the dot stands phisically for a coupled inductors ? I mean, given a real "transformer", how can i identify the right connections ? Furthermore, i think there's something not clear about deriving [EQ6] from [EQ4] = [EQ5] in your main comment, are they correct ?

@robertbolanos Thank you for your videos. These videos are gems for people working on flyback designing. My RCD snubber is reducing the voltage spike but not eliminating the ringing. Is there any specific reason for this? Once again thank you for your videos

Hi, but when I also add the term (1+λVds) to the current equation and have fixed the current Id, Vt and Kp, how can I understand the values of Vgs and Vds? For example, in the current mirror I want polarization with a fixed Id current, how can I also fix the Vds in such a way as to obtain the fixed Vgs? Could you point me to a guide that explains how to make a MOSFET work as an ideal current generator to impart a reference current into a current mirror? thank you so much

Hi Robert, Thank you for this video. Question, in the title you mention that this is a transformer and so I am assuming that this is a ferrite material with no air gap. However, in your video you mention that this is an inductor. Is this an inductor with an air gap or a transformer?
@RobertBolanos
@RobertBolanos 3 ай бұрын
Hi Reni, If I recall it had a gap. Adding a gap will make the inductor go into saturation at a higher voltage. If you look at a B vs H curve, the make the slope of the curve less so the saturation happens at a higher H and therefore higher current. I hope that makes sense. Have a good day. RB

Excelente video!!! A question I have tried to follow the Rdc equation (15:17 and 23:42) and I can see that there is a factor in the multiplication = *2.4, why? This value does not correspond to the one in the excel sheet provided by you... is it an adjustment factor? thank you very much for your reply.

Thank you for your great presentation. But i have any questions. What about resonant frequency of converter, in this point our converter has lower impedance, and yes Middlebrook Criteria need to be satisfied in all frequency domain less that our Fsw. Can you explain, because your Impedance calculation don't reflect this, and cutoff frequency off your filter is designed only using needed attenuation and don't exclude intersection between peak of filter impedance and lower impedance of converter at resonant frequency, and if i understand correctly, this model of converter don't use variable negative resistance like real converter is. Thanks you very much and please correct me if i misunderstood something!

Generally, you want to fill the layers to 80 to 90 percent converage. In other others, lets say you primay on the 1st layer is 5 turns of 1 strand of wire, and if would amounts to 40 percent of the first layer, then what you can do is wind it a two strands to that it will cover 80 percent of the 1st layer on the bobbin. You do the same with the rest. Please details of your transfomrer calculator and any other information to [email protected]

How is the secondary voltage 12V in the Nr = 0.1 case - surely the secondary voltage in only 2.4V in that case? This then gives the same Vds of 2* Vin = 48V...
