.Such a rich legacy of God's faithfulness and worship is deeply embedded here, with so much gold to be found beyond. I remember as a teen in the Central Heights youth group (around '83-85), with Brian Doerksen leading us to Granville Street in downtown Vancouver to worship on the streets and reach out to homeless youth, bridging hope, faith, and love. The same young Brian leading worship then! I also remember, as a young nursing student away in Greater London, returning home to be part of Brian and Joyce's home group, a room filled with young people worshipping with their full hearts, and continuing to be shaped by this legacy in Abbotsford, B.C.( I also remember Brian & Al's folks singing at church, their faces brightly shining of the glory of God too!) And there is so much more. The embodied, lived story of Christ in both Brian and Joyce is a powerful testimony, much like the "Long Obedience in the Right Direction" that Eugene Peterson writes about.
