Larry Graham was problematic first being kicked out of Sly and the family stone. He came into Princes life in a low point of his life he had just lost Amir. Prince said it was Graham who introduced Prince to be a JW. When that wasn’t true George Benson used his studios and was a JW. Many people feel including myself Larry Graham was not a good influence around Prince and some quoted being his handler. I will never respect LG I actually despise him. And, his nephew Aubrey has the same traits !!!!

@@phunkidruma yes, I was watching I think if I spelled it correctly Montreux music festival and he was right there. Anytime Prince was doing something big his azz was right there leeching off of him. Another person and Van Jones he was fired and his crocodile tears when he died I was disgusted. When Prince performed at the WH he didn’t want to get involved in politics it was supposed to be a private event. Al Sharpton posted he was having the time of his life at Princes concert. Damn, rat his whole camp used him and contributed to his demise no one came around when he was sick which is still a mystery. I was at his concert it was surreal i cried a couple of times and snuck in a live version of purple rain I still have it. I hid my cell phone. I kick myself because Dougie Fresh started his concert and he wasn’t to far from me. I just wanted to write thank you! 😢😔. But again his concert was surreal Janelle Mone’ opened for him. He really was little at this time he had been wearing wedges they were sneakers. He was one of a kind I’m still devastated and it seemed when he left the earth there was a huge shift in the atmosphere. I think he left at the right time because America definitely went into destruction. He didn’t believe in politics, he didn’t believe in birthdays, the concept of time he didn’t like the words fan he considered us friends and family He understood the metaphysical and only a handful have . Maurice White from Earth Wind and Fire, Nick Ashford, there’s only been a few and of course Tupac and kendrick. That prince performance told everything. The only other rapper I know he surprised was Q tip. I was not impressed with Alicia keys. And Andre 3000 touches the metaphysical as well. I just hope he realized how much he was loved 🌺🌺🕊️🤍💗.

Watch a Prince concert then get back with me on that. Or better go 2 a live performance of Baby I'm A Star go in the comments look 4 Sally Ann someone who went all 3 MJ concert and said he lip sync most of the time. She even said Prince Don't Stop Til U Get Enough that he played as a tribute was better than MJ. MJ is no bum like Drake but he wasn't more talented than Prince. Also, Larry Graham was the bassist of legendary band Sly and the Family Stone, (whose music Prince grew up on and was inspired by-he even got the idea for a multi-gender, interracial band from them). Larry Graham basically invented slap bass too, a style of playing that great players like Flea went on to adopt.

@jovanreid6782
@jovanreid6782 2 ай бұрын
You should hear the studio version. It was a track from The Vault that didn't get released until 1998's Crystal Ball, which was basically a 3 CD collection of previously unreleased Prince bootlegs. "What's My Name" is one of my favorite rare Prince tracks ever, with some of his most profound lyrics imo that go as follows: "Take this bass/I can't play it/It only makes me wish for/the way it used to be/You slap my face/But I've got to say it/You never woulda drank my coffee/If I had never served you cream/Tell me/What's my name?" If you get what Prince is touching on with those lyrics, you can probably understand why he chose this song to perform with the likes of someone as conscious as Kendrick.

Valid views, I don’t actually think there’s any new rappers that have affected me as much as the ones you have named namely X, Mac, juice, peep and pop nor any new rappers that imo managed to naturally grow a fan base like the ones mentioned. It’s sad to see but you never know I think it’s just best to be hopeful and just support whomever you like and enjoy. I find that most people I supported eventually came about or sold themselves out, which resulted in me and many other (looking at the numbers) to stop caring for them
