Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss has Dot comparing himself as the Prince to Drake’s Micheal Jackson. But its deeper than rap. They both have their own history with the purple one.

Prince only respected true musicians and artists. Kendrick is a deep thinking Pulitzer Prize winning lyrical cyclone. drake is a ghostwriter supported pre-packaged pop star. Prince would have NOTHING to do with the latter.

Kendrick shared the stage with Prince. They did a song together called 'What's My Name'.

You should hear the studio version. It was a track from The Vault that didn't get released until 1998's Crystal Ball, which was basically a 3 CD collection of previously unreleased Prince bootlegs. "What's My Name" is one of my favorite rare Prince tracks ever, with some of his most profound lyrics imo that go as follows: "Take this bass/I can't play it/It only makes me wish for/the way it used to be/You slap my face/But I've got to say it/You never woulda drank my coffee/If I had never served you cream/Tell me/What's my name?" If you get what Prince is touching on with those lyrics, you can probably understand why he chose this song to perform with the likes of someone as conscious as Kendrick.

Also, Larry Graham was the bassist of legendary band Sly and the Family Stone, (who's music Prince grew up on and was inspired by-he even got the idea for a multi-gender, interracial band from them). Larry Graham basically invented slap bass too, a style of playing that great players like Flea went on to adopt.

Yep Kendrick performed with Prince. Prince definitely was very picky about music and people

Drake deserves this, hip hop was already very light at him in the beginning, and his way of acting create this situation

Watch a Prince concert then get back with me on that. Or better go 2 a live performance of Baby I'm A Star go in the comments look 4 Sally Ann someone who went all 3 MJ concert and said he lip sync most of the time. She even said Prince Don't Stop Til U Get Enough that he played as a tribute was better than MJ. MJ is no bum like Drake but he wasn't more talented than Prince. U ever seen someone play piano and guitar at the same time?

I don't really fuck w/ Drake's music. But he got bars. The way he flipped the Prince and MJ line in "Family Matters" is dope. He referred to J Cole as MJs big brother Jermaine. Cole's real name is Jermaine 😳🤯

Larry Graham was problematic first being kicked out of Sly and the family stone. He came into Princes life in a low point of his life he had just lost Amir. Prince said it was Graham who introduced Prince to be a JW. When that wasn’t true George Benson used his studios and was a JW. Many people feel including myself Larry Graham was not a good influence around Prince and some quoted being his handler. I will never respect LG I actually despise him. And, his nephew Aubrey has the same traits !!!!

Man, that line was basic as hell. Kendrick was getting smoked lyrically. Dig into the line when Drake flips it. The media bias in this beef is unlike any we’ve ever seen before. Bots and payola and it’s still not working cause some of us still have minds of our own.
