I was hanging out in little five points in Atlanta several years ago after my bands rehearsal, we headed to Felinnis Pizza for grub and sitting there at the front of the restaurant was Dug Pinnick from Kings X and Mr. Smith just chillin’. I couldn’t fucking believe he was right there in front of me.

As a youngster I bought this on VHS and watched it like a million times and played along on my drum kit. It was my drum lesson for many moons.

It’s weird. I absolutely do not care for any of the Chili Peppers music, and find most of it pretty generic garbage even if the whole catalogue is pretty diverse, but I completely adore Chad Smith. Amazing fuckin drummer, that just keeps inspiring. Great on the spot groove like jesus christ.

What about "Fela's" at the end? Is it a RHCP tune, or simply a jam? And is it a reference to Fela Kuti?
@alexandergedeon4092 жыл бұрын
Song’s called Fela’s Cock. Yes. And yes. It was an outtake on BSSM.

It’s a long held tenet of music that bands will live and die by their rhythm section. And here’s a perfect example of how RHCP have had longevity

@Ewang27273 жыл бұрын
what does he sound like now
@markmullen99193 жыл бұрын
@@Ewang2727 Not Chad himself. His Pearl kits back in the day sounded amazing to me because he used larger toms and his snare wasn't cranked up nearly as high as he likes it today. Chad has always been an amazing drummer. He's one of my favorites. I wasn't complaining about him as a drummer or saying he isn't talented.

Some of that was the 90s sound engineers and the peak of analogue equipment but yea I totally agree, this is straight after bssm and he's at his peak here

Why did his kit ever get smaller? Thats like the dopest wrap design I've ever seen
