I’ve driven to Mexico several times over the years. Number one rule is, don’t drive a flash vehicle. Rule number two. Drive a vehicle that can be easily repaired. Ie, Toyota, GM, Ford. Not BMW, LAND ROVER ETC.

Aw damn I have been going down the rabbit hole. I borrowed my dad’s truck a GMC sierra and I stupidly pumped gas in it and drove it back home before I realized what I had done…. The truck had very little diesel in it as the low fuel sign was on… but I rode home 7 miles hopefully on the last of the diesel. Next day the truck turned on but was shaking like crazy that’s when I realized what I had done… Hopefully my dad’s truck can still be saved…. I feel like a real asshole and I’ve put diesel in his truck before but I just was paying more attention to my surroundings that what the fuck was in front of me…. Watching this and reading comments of people saying they saved their truck gives me hope…. Hopefully the damage is minimal… And god bless Daniel for being such a gentleman

I've been going to Mexico regularly since 1992 and often as a solo female. Never had a problem. We currently go twice a year for weeks at a time. But honestly if videos like this keep people away then that is also fine with me. They should just stay in the US.

Astoria is also where Kindergarten Cop starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, was filmed. They filmed at John Jacob Astor Elementary school and Kimble's Bay View Motel in Astoria. Also a warning ⚠️ it’s dangerous to sit or stand on the logs on the coast. People get injured and killed every year from sand shifting (wet sand and water under the surface shifts) and logs rolling on them, breaking bones or crushing them. Be safe out there in your own! ps Love your channel!

Glad to hear you found someone south of the border to help you out. I just wanted to give you a heads up about the Seattle area. I’ve lived here on and off for 30 years and a lot has changed in that time. I currently live north of Seattle near Lynnwood. Drugs and crime has increased significantly since COVID. Lots of shady people up to no good. So please be very careful when stealth camping and using free camping areas anywhere around the Puget Sound. Even some areas in the foothills are questionable. However I would suggest getting out on the islands and exploring what Washington has to offer. Is there a way to send you a PM? I’d love to share with you some of the areas we’ve explored over the years.

Mate! I've been searching around looking for real 4-wheeling/overlanding videos without all the fluff n' fake. Anyway, the first thing that caught my eye like a Mexican cop on the take was your awesome Defender 🤣So, I thought this should be good. Anyway, binge watching your videos has been quite the adventure in its own right. So glad I came across this channel. I'm thinking you're going to need a lot of coffees bought for you, if you keep this up! Loving your channel, the Nebraska Aussie.

Love the PNW! Moved up here years ago and haven't looked back. Astoria is awesome and has that Goonies vibe that I felt as a kid watching the movie! If you are up in the Olympic National Park area, check out the "Tree of Life" out in Forks Washington and the "Hoh Rain Forest", really Beautiful and unique part of land(Got to see a lot of Elk out there as well). I need to go back one day and hit up "Cape Flattery" myself which I believe is the most Western place in the 48 contiguous states. I meant to check it out 2 years ago but ended up missing out because I headed South instead of North like an idiot and was on a time crunch to get to Seattle that day when I left Forks. Lol. Enjoy your trip!

The drone shots were amazing and risky. If you make it to the top of the Olympics do visit the Makaw Cultural Center in Neah Bay. The Ozette Loop Trail is another recommend.
