Im in 7th grade and my teacher made us watch this, there was a school shooting threat on 9/13/24 (today) at 1:30. I was scared, I was in band class and as the clock ticked foward, my heart sped up. But, luckily, it was only a threat and never happened. GOD BLESS AMERICA. (sarcastically)

School with all white students are much much much safer than schools with ethnic diversity. Could we implement this safety measure in some schools in Sarasota county to protect our teachers and children?

While I appreciate this message, can we have a serious talk about hardening our schools so they're no longer easy targets for criminals? Our government buildings and politicians have more security than our schools full of defenseless children. Gun free zones don't stop criminals.

15 GOP Governors Are Refusing Free Summer Meals for School Kids They argue that refusing to participate in Summer EBT will hurt states’ economies in both the short- and long-term. Collectively, the states that have opted out are giving up an estimated $1.2 billion in benefits. Florida, for example, is missing out on a whopping $259 million. “That’s an awful lot of money to turn down that would have gone to a great cause of feeding children,” said Cindy Huddleston, senior policy analyst at the Florida Policy Institute. The economic impact of the benefits would likely have been even greater, given that food stamps have been found to have a multiplier effect of at least 1.5. When families use food stamps at local grocery stores, that boosts those businesses and others in their supply chains. Some states had balked at having to pay for half of the administrative cost of running the new program. Governor Reynolds claimed it would cost Iowa $2.2 million to administer, a dubious number given that it costs the state the same sum to run the entire SNAP program for an entire year, which serves far more families. Nebraska Appleseed has estimated Summer EBT would cost its state just $300,000 to administer, and would bring the state $18 million in funding. “That’s a pretty good deal,” Savaiano noted. Even with Florida shouldering administrative costs, Huddleston said, “the cost in not doing the program is actually greater to the state than it would be if they do the program.” Congratulations Florida for voting Republican....the governor declined $259 million in federal aid for the children. Strictly, for the children!!!! A vote for a Republican is a vote against the children. Unbelievable......just no words for this intentional atrocity by the GOP....
Dr Asplen. Don’t believe this two-faced liar. That two-faced liar already got fired from my job and got walked off the property by the county commissioners for breaking laws and retaliating against us employees. Nice try Jason but you’re the one who lost your job. So Dr. Asplen. Don’t believe this two-faced liar.

You inplemented a hiring freeze when teachers/staff are already overwhelmed, and your reasoning is because the population in sarasota county is decreasing???? All the achievements made by the students and staff in sarasota county schools were made DESPITE your terrible oversight/leadership! Sarasota county schools would be better off if this was your first and last year as superintendent!

Newly released documents say Moms For Liberty co-founder Bridget Ziegler and her GOP chairman husband went “on the prowl” in Sarasota bars to find women to have sex with. Text messages quoted in a Sarasota Police Department (SPD) memo that was obtained by the Florida Trident revealed that Ziegler sent her husband, Christian, hunting for a third sexual partner at local bars and directed him to send photos of possible hits. She allegedly told him to pretend to take pictures of his beer while photographing the women so he wouldn’t get caught sneaking pictures of them.
