Before Scala came along, there was no easy way to make a presentations or kiosk attracts. Although you say the fonts were ugly, Scala did work with Agfa Compugraphic vector fonts used for DTP and actually came with a pretty attractive set. Maybe you just had ugly fonts?

It's all closed now, and has been for many years. It was sold to a developer. I remember seeing Lions on the island as a kid, kept in a cage. Think they had monkeys at one point too?

Great video, thank you! :D I'm trying to learn more about czech music and dance culture, bc it's somehow so much harder to find something than for slovak music&dance culture! Or maybe I'm just stupid xD But the dance at 7:14, is it really traditionally czech (edit: also and especially the one at 10:03 !)? And what are the the songs called to which they do these two dances?? And what are these two dances called or is it the same? It's amazing! looks and sounds like the dances I saw slovaks do :D And the two songs in the beginning of the whole video, what is it called?? It's beautiful! Please excuse my cluelessness and all the questions, I'm just fascinated by things like these and currently learning Czech, only because I find the language so incredibly beautiful <3

You are far from the only one thinking this. It is actually insane that HBC are even considering this let alone it being near to being signed off.

It was obvious to everyone EXCEPT the idiots who planned that pointless island (people still cross through the traffic further up) that this was going to happen. Easy to waste other peoples money, eh?

I lived in hastings in the 1980's & When I returned in 2012 for A visit I was shocked to see How much the town centre Had changed. Still hold the Town dear to my heart though.

fascinating video - personally i would of preferred if they had just left the cricket ground there for future generations to enjoy and put the retail outlets further out of town. The cricket ground was originally given to the people of Hastings - and should of never been built apon. Hopefully one day the shopping center is a commercial faliure the place can be pulled down and the beautiful green space restored.

I still use Scala MM400 on my A1200 for producing DVD's. Actually very easy once you get used to it. Also, that's an A1200 not A500 :-).

I used to fly the NW Detroit to Gatwick on the DC10 around this time (98 - 2002). Brings back memories. I remember flying Air Canada 3000 in 99' from Gatwick to Pearson (Toronto). Nice times; especially when the £ was so strong.

Good to see it again. I remember seeing it as a kid when it was brought to Christchurch in the 1960's (?) I still remember climbing the stairs to see it, I think it was the original Farmers building.

I've recently learned at a family gathering that it was my uncle owned this park. What is annoying is that I was an avid skate rat back in 88-91; although I lived in Northland - nobody in my family thought to tell me my uncle had this, and that the Bones Brigade visited!
