WWE just seems a bit more strategic about picking people up. You look at someone like Okada, which I think the figure you said in the vid was $4m/yr for however many years - given how he's been utilized thus far, I don't think AEW will make back what they spent to secure him. Same deal with Mercedes Moné, she's said this is her most lucrative deal ever but I can't imagine that she draws to justify the spending. And in both cases, what will happen when their contract comes up for renewal/renegotiation? Will AEW want to continue to pay out the same money and/or they will probably want increases over what they're currently at. WWE seems to just be gaming AEW into spending as much as possible to pick up "The Best Talent"; meanwhile they grab a bunch of "Great Talent" for a steal. I feel like it kinda goes back to what that dude from GCW (I forget his name) said about "The rest of us still have to worry about running a profitable business"; responsible companies still have to balance what they pay for talent vs. what the expected draw rate will be. Not just buying a fancy toybox where they use someone until they get bored then move on...
