How tough is that race especially uphills?
@AdventureTrailsTO16 күн бұрын
The race is definitely something you want to put in serious training for. It will just make the whole experience that much better. The days are very long, and you are out there for 10 hours racing, transitioning, waiting around, having lunch etc. There is very little down time when you get back to camp and you basically fall asleep and repeat the whole day over. Back to back to back days really start to wear you out. The stages are long - 5-7min, but are all downhill with very minimal sustained uphill. The stages are very physical and rough which doesn't show well in the videos.

The hikers always look like NPCs in these MTB videos, just standing around arbitrarily staring into space. I'm not saying that's the case, they are likely just enjoying nature/scenery same as us, but they kinda look funny as our moment in time and space intersects with theirs briefly.

I wish you and the rest of the youtubers who post Don Valley rides would show where the trailhead is so the viewers know how and where to access these trails. Everyone starts their vids when they are already on the trails. Extremely frustrating.
